It's also really nice to read about your brother's reaction to the show. Same thing happened with my brother-in-law during the Come With Us tour, and he's been a fan since. :D
On a side here, I'm not quite sure why the Chems aren't getting a whole lot of press and hype here in the States. I don't know if this is the fault of the street team or lack thereof. I for one signed up to be on the street team. Signed up some time in late December - got a response sometime in February and I finally got the materials in the second week of March. Astralwerks obviously put a lot of time, money and effort into the steet team materials and they didn't skimp at all. But I think the delay unfortunately is what seems to have been the word-on-the-street setback. As for my package, all materials went to good use at the record store I work at because the label reps unfortunately had very little, if any materials to display or give away.

it was a massive honour for us to play with New Order they are pretty much our favourite band ever. A constant source of inspiration as musicians and as people. the whole day was incredibly special to us. As we arrived at the venue the band were still sounchecking, to see them play Love will tear us Apart , True Faith and Run Wild in that empty hall is a memory that will never fade..
Of course it was appropriate that we opened for them, we were honoured to be asked..We felt the gig went pretty well, and I am surprised people thought we were in any way pissed off..We knew what to expect we were opening for a massive band that people love particularly in that area..Both Bernard and Peter came to watch us play on the side of the stage which gave us a great buzz..
As I walked through the crowd later to take a good position to see New Order many many people told me how much they enjoyed the show, which I took as a good sign..
and anyway the next night was Coachella where we truely rocked the house
cheers

Yeah Biatch, and after the show you totally ran from us! We walked all over the back stage area looking for you guys, but not even a 'Hello' for your most loyal stalkers! }:-@
I think to make up for dissing us (AGAIN) you should send us some of those cool PTB crew tour shirts like tom was wearing. ;-)
I'm kidding, I'm kidding, the way we smelled, you really didn't want to be anywhere near us. Hell, we didn't want to be anywhere near us.

Thank you Ed, and make sure Tom knows how grateful we are too.

Well, my apologies. I stand corrected - at least with regards to your reaction to events. I'm glad you had that opportunity. All I can say is that I look forward to the next time I can see you perform to an audience as enthusiastic as those at Red Rocks and SF '99. Seeing you perform is such a truly massive, spiritual experience, and sharing that with others in the audience can enhance the experience so much. If you show up anywhere west of the Rockies this summer, you can be certain I'll be there with my dancin' shoes on...

First off Ed, don't listen to toomuch'stash. He's craaaaaazy, I tell you! ;)
To say you truly rocked the house at Coachella is an understatement - where we were standing, you and Tom rocked our worlds 6 ways from Sunday!
That gig was more than we could've hoped for, and it is now a fine memory that will follow me til my last days. A beautiful thing, the night was so perfect and I've got you both to thank for that.
I'm also very happy that your opening set for New Order is such a good memory for you and Tom. It's nice you came in here and put any worries about that gig to rest.

One memory I forgot about that show till about a day ago still have though is at during one of the transition parts in the song I could actually hear tom singing the fading vocal part while mashing on the mixer. Is that what you guys usually are saying/singing when we're screaming at you and your screaming back at us?
it's been a week now. I wanna see another chems show

I know...
old posts about terrible shows that no one cares about. But I was ammused to find this video of that set. Just to have the close up of believe and in good sound quality was exciting for me.

Damn! A classic from the vault, but without the happy ending!
If I ever went to a Chems show with a crappy crowd like that, I would just block it from my mind and just focus on the electro vibrations cause its all about the support. But the distractions do suck, and Ed and Tom Chemical did everything they could but this 'unresponsive crowd' situations do happen. But now those days are over and The Chems are even BIGGER. So in that case, fans of NO are now realizing how big and popular the bros are these days. And I bet you today that those people who jeered T and E at that concert are now saying to themselves 'What were we thinking!' Now it's 2009 and it's time for Ed and Tom to 'Rock the House' again hopefully this April, where the ultimate fanatics will be unleashed. Great read for a Saturday morning with my toast and OJ.
