which is the most legendary roland drum machine? is it the tr 505 or sumtin, cause on my dr 202 dr groove it has all the old sounds from the early drum machine series exept i think its missing one, oh man the old sounds ive got on my machine are real nice. their classics man

Don't over use them, mash 'em in the effects if you can. People can spot an 808 sound from miles away, it'll get cliche in the long run

I prefer hardware - much more tweakable, fat, and rewireable.

i use the vst's because i dont have that much hardware all i have is my decks my mixer, sampler, and drgroove. i use nuendo and download cracks n shit, ive also got reason and i use the effects and the on board synth and its sound, yeah

ever tried Logic Audio? I managed to pick up a copy of 5 Silver brand new for $245 USD along with Emagic's software samplers and CD sets - good deal (big box). I think I here ya if you're low money... I'm in the same position, and will go for every steal on eBay I can!

yeah ebay's the way to go, i usually get my stuff from there, i got my drgroove for only 250 aus dollars when it is worth around 850 to 900 aud new. i got my sampler from there as well. i dont have a job yet so when i do ill have zee money.

What sampler electric? Most have wicked filters on too, I wouldn't overlook them. Unless we're talking a REAL old school sampler (like a mono, 22kHz job). But I guess VST is convieniant (sp), you can chuck on effects if the sequence doesn't quite sound right :)

well my sampler is kinda old, it has no effects but its a proffessional one, its a roland ms-1 sampler made around 1994 to 1995, its got flash memory, real nice stereo samples, lcd display n shit, good stuff. its a phrase sampler so its good for what i do, here a bit of info http://www.cleverjoe...synths/ms1.html
