Not certain where you'd find it, but I'm pretty confident that part of a Bros. performance was used in a documentary on the Glastonbury festival...

One documentary I know of is "Better Living Through Circuitry", although the Chemical Brothers are sadly not included.

It centers on the electronic dance community from the late 90's (in the U.S.). There are several interesting interviews, including a good one with The Crystal Method during their "Vegas" era.

Where can I stream or download "Better living through circuitry"? No luck with much searching.

Can anyone send me it on rapidshare or something?

Yeah I love that Red Rocks special. They used to play it all the time on ABC2 but as soon as I got a HD recorder they stoped playing it. I dont think i'll ever get to see it in higher quality ;).

@Ayaz also theres plenty of interviews on the Singles 93-03 dvd if you haven't already got it.

You could go watch It's All Gone Pete Tong. It's more a Mockumentary if anything but it does highlight some of the themes and aspects of Ibizan culture. Also great cause it's directed by a kick ass Albertan (YAH but BOO because he's from Calgary!).

I would like to see a documentary focusing on the whole dance culture that evolved from the Chicago and Detroit scenes through the 70's and 80's. There is alot of stuff that I am listening to from guys in that era right now (Derrick May, Marshall Jefferson, Jeff Mills). Some people may say it was overhyped but I would like to see and hear more about why it was so influential.

It's all gone Pete Tong is a great movie.

"They had those Martini Adds in the 70's that said 'a martini is dot-dot-dot;' like what the fuck is a martini? Well I feel like I can now say, 'Ibiza (a-beefa) is dot-dot-dot"

I butchered that simply because I need to watch it tonight

It's All Gone Pete Tong is entertaining. Here's a funny story. A few years back, a "clssic rock" friend of mine asked me if I knew who Pete Tong was, to which I replied, "Yes. You do?" He then asked me about the "deaf DJ", to which I was dumbfounded. (Ha, I made a pun). Anyway, he apparently downloaded the movie by accident and didn't watch it but thought I might like it. He was right. However, he thought he was giving me a documentary, which makes the whole thing pretty funny. I had no idea a movie like this was even out there. There is some research involved for Americans to keep up with independent movies like this, 24 Hour Party People, Control, and such, but it is usually worth it.

@ prochem - I'd love to help you but I can't. Not sure were my DVD went, but it's missing.

@ rynostar - I agree, a documentary on the early Chicago house and Detroit techno movements would indeed be interesting.

Hey, if anyone happens to post the Red Rocks documentary, can you add a link here? It doesn't appear to be available at retail...

Looking a little more into it lately...looks like there was a release of a chicago house scene documentary. I would like to find it now.

I saw this awhile back. It's a good DVD for those who want to peak in the 80's and 90's early house scene. Major prolific DJ's on here: Bad Boy Bill, Pierre, Farley Funk. Just buy it Ryno!
