back in the days we had Flip the Switch, a remix album of push the button and a cool Believe EP with alternative versions of Believe.
Not all tracks where that good unfortunately but there are some really awesome and wierd tracks on this online album.

There is no limit to the tracks concerning length. everyone is free to pick a track they like and remix it even if somebody else picked that track already. we'll see in the end how we make a solid release out of the material. personally i don't care if a track appears twice, as long as the remixes are totally different. also: better a missing track than a bad remix. i can imagine that dissolve would be quite hard to remix (but don't let this hold you back to prove me that I'm wrong!! )
You can use as many copyrighted samples from as many artist as you like because there won't be any money involved in this project. Good mashups are valid entry's.

Digital Booklet:

Because of the incredible artwork skills of our forum members there will be a digital booklet with cool cover art, some interesting trivia of the Brother's, a few words by everybody involved, photo's from the live performances, etc. In fact: it can contain anything and everything related to this subject, and if we are very, very, verry lucky we might get a few words from the brothers themselves to put in the booklet...
The aim is a good representation of the Further era in words + images.
Everybody is free use his photoshop skills to make something cool. See for example the work of various forum members in this thread. There is a lot of info about the chems and their liveshows on this forum and i think this booklet is a good place to put some of that info. for example the studio tech talk, the best review of Further, the Q&A's, some cool tweets or quotes etc. feel free to write something that adds value to this. Maybe a short history lesson about the chems perhaps?

I love the idea! Not that I can participate because I can't do nearly the caliber of remix that this kind of thing deserves - but two things:

1. Who would dare mess with Escape Velocity? It'd take some guts to remix a nearly 12-minute song. Whoever does it well is gonna get some real respect from me.

2. You should definitely include a Don't Think remix on there, even as a sort of bonus track. It's deserving of the attention a remix album would give it.

What about Pourquoi?

I would do it, I just wish they had remix contests going on so we could get separate samples and not have to try and extract the old fashion ways. Any other takers? we should set deadline on it to make sure it comes together.

i remixed alot of chem songs before but, to be honest, it would be a little hard remixes most of the songs on further, especially wonders. awesome idea though.

also, i have a question about the rules, if someone were so to remix one of the songs on further, would they be able to mix in some sounds from the other albums?

2. If you would like to remix pourquoi: go ahead! It can easily be included IMO.
3. Biff, what track would you like to remix? if you have any preferences i recommend you to claim your track quickly. I'm not sure a deadline is needed, maybe a month after everybody has claimed his/her track?
4. Ah Jamalchang, a experienced chems remixer! i agree some tracks are really difficult to remix but the same goes for push the button. listen for example how surface to air has been remixed.
I'm not quite fond of to many rules: If it sounds good, it sounds good. i don't if the track is 2 minutes long or 15 minutes long. As long as it remains interesting to listen to. I also recommend you to claim your track before somebody else does there are only 9 tracks left to give!
in general: i've tried to contact the original participants of the "Flip the Switch" project but most of them are hard to find on the internet. i've contacted dunproofin, Idiotech and JoolsMF. I'n not on twitter or myspace so i couldn't contact some of the others..

I was thinking the same thing. The Polymath remix owns.

I was going to call another world, but of polymath is putting his remix on the list I don't think we could get better. I guess I'll call dubs (typo I'll leave) on K + D + B.

I have nothing to add musically but I would like to add some encouragement! I think it's a great idea! It's been too long since there has been a forum music project.

I think in theory if this compilation comes together it should be devoid of any association w/ flip the switch in name, since it's other people's work. New name? Furtheremix? That's all I got and it ain't that good.

Hmm .. something like "Even Further" or "Further Still"? Just thinking out loud.

what about "Beyond"?

also, on the surface to air remix, i think i hear a sample from smashing pumpkins 1979.

I can't offer anything musically, but I can offer webspace and a website to promote the finished product.
