So sad I am. Are the Chems ever coming back to Chicago?
I missed the show a few years ago due to other commitments, and have been kicking myself ever since. After this latest, wonderful release, I was hoping they would tour the States again. Other than the occassional lone gig, we have yet to see them.
Does anyone know if there is a specific reason for it? Perhaps some loon offended them?
Europe...enjoy what you have. Find a show and buy your tickets today. Some of us are not so fortunate.
Cheers,
j. :'(

i feel sorry for you, honest i really do. i live in england and this december im going to see them twice in newcastle and glasgow. i wanted to maybe see them in new york this year and waited for the dates but nothing. its not as if the album has not been sucessful and winning the mtv ema for best video is an amzing triumph although yet again it has been mainly overlooked by our press in england. i mean if robbie williams(a famous singer in europe) picked his nose it would be front page story. but the chems are an established act in the usa and it amazes me that nearly a year after the release of "push the button" there hasnt been a sniff of any dates announced. but remember they played santiago, chile in october 2004 which was quite a while after the release of the "come with us" cd so you never know. and i hope you get the dates you wish for because not to rub salt in the wounds but the shows from this tour have been amazing especially manchester in may this year. JESUS THAT WAS A LONG REPLY.

I think the Chems will definitely be back, maybe not a full blown tour of the U.S. this time around since their promotion of Push The Buttons is just about done, but they'll be back in the States again - I am confident about that at the very least we'll get the odd show every now and again. I would like to think at the very least they'll be back at Coachella, or maybe another festival in New York as they seem to enjoy playing those events here in the States.
barbarino200, I don't know if there's 1 specific reason why the Chems have decided to nix a tour of the U.S. with the exception of a small handful of dates. I love the Chems with all my heart and I am so happy for their success, I am blessed to have seen them this tour, blessed to have seen them in my state only a couple hours from where I live - it was the best concert of my life and I have this great memory I can carry to the grave. But I have to admit there is a small part of me that thinks the U.S. was snubbed especially when I know there's people like you and other folks here who would've loved to have the chance to see them promote Push The Button. People who would've done anything in their power to have seen the Chems this time around but for one reason or another that was out of their control, couldn't. But I don't think the lack of a U.S. tour, or this snubbing as I harshly referred it to as... I don't believe it was malicious or anything so melodramatic. I think there must be a myraid of reasons as to why the Chems decided that touring the U.S. might not have served their best interests. Reasons that maybe we shouldn't know about, or reasons beyond their control.
The only thing to do now, for those of us that are stuck here in the U.S., is to wait it out and see what happens with their next album.
I believe good things come to those who wait.

We'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
Things are looking up and the future seems more probable and filled with possibilities on my end that I've never pondered before. I'd be up for some serious interstate travel to catch the Chems!!
Party at Bosco's!!
