What with the shows downunder in March, the re scheduled Berlin gig in July and the London Olympia show in August (not to mention the festivals) would it be too optimistic to hope that there could well be a good few others added between now and next summer?I mean if the whole shebang is still gonna be rolling they may well announce another European tour and maybe take in some cities that they missed this year (like DUBLIN!!!)

well errol also did spell out the big rumor for coachella just after the ameircan tour, so there is another possble date. It would be interesting to see if they play any off the beaten track places in 08 or just a few random shows

What do you mean, chemicalfan? Like the Olympia show could be some sort of farewell "thanks for the memories?" type gig?
My brain hurts too much at the mo' to think about such a catastrophic look into the future, and I don't mean to put you on the spot, but is that what you might be getting at?

That's right! I'm tempted to quote Freakazoid right now, but I won't -- ah, who cares.
"NO!!! Get out of here with that watch! Lay off the poor beavers, will ya?! Sheeeeeeeeesh! Go away! We were having a good time 'til you showed up, Jeepers! Oohhhhhhh! Go have some coffee with cream or something! 'Cause I'll tell you something! This is a happy place!"
You may now all flee in terror. =D
(And I'm not telling ChemicalFan to go away - I just thought that'd be fun and slightly relevant.)

The worrying sentiments already expressed were forefront in my mind also when I read of the Olympia gig. They've been going a long time now. They have families (well, one at least - correct me if I'm wrong). Going out with a bang? Could be.
Of course, nobody wants that to happen, but it's just one more reason to make sure you get tickets!

NO no NO! NOOOO thoughts like that please. Eeep! Right, DEFINITLY getting me ticket tomorrow even if I have to travel across the planet to get to the show!
I am finding living without me Orbital boys very hard...I couldnt take losing the Chems too...life just wouldnt be worth living anymore.
But enough of scary thoughts like that...got 9 months of looking forward to this uber show in the mean time :-)

I know how you feel, Lucy. =( The thought that Tom and Ed would cease their music creation makes me inCREDibly sad. All the more reason to grab tickets, though, I guess. Just watch, we'll end up spreading rumors that they are and ticket sales will skyrocket. XP

Crap. Look what I've gone and done.
I'm sorry. I hate perpetrating stuff like this and I should have stopped my fat fingers from typing (would being tipsy at the time be a good excuse?) I just wanted to know what chemfan was getting at is all.
Rumors like this come and go all the time, this place has been littered with "do you think we're gonna get another album? is this their last album? are they breaking up the band?" type rumors pretty much since the forum's inception.
If they threw in the towel tomorrow (and if the world doesn't implode in the process) as sad as it would be for you and me and a bunch of others there's still great tunes, great memories and all of that to take into our old age. No use worrying over uncertainties like this.

If it's the end, so be it.
I know initially I'll be sad when the day comes. But I couldn't possibly ask for more from the duo, as they have brought me happiness through countless parts of my life these past years.
I still feel confident for their future, though. I have a suspicion that there is actually newer material around the horizon sooner then later, from the fellas. So consider me optimistic.
But if the exact opposite happens, that's ok. Because like Whirly said, I got countless warm memories to look back on with some of the most amazing music ever created.
