@Ben_j I like the evolution of your tracks, they're repetitive but never repeat themselves.

@ChemicalReaction: Nice work! There's something seriously heavy about that track, it's trapped between abrasive, smooth but it's not an awkward arrangment. I love what you did with the plodding bass and especially the ping ponging female vocals. As for criticism, I could do without the bit after the 5 minute mark, it's really out of place, and the use of the default FL Studio drum loops is a little obvious for those familiar with the software (like me). Though I'm just as guilty for using those prepackaged drum loops so I'll try not to throw any stones from my glass house.

Thanks Whitenoise! That review made my track sound more awesome than it is. And as for the fruity loops, haha, I just got lazy after a while and couldn't come up with a decent beat myself so I just used it. It fits perfectly in the track I think.

Ah damn. And I was just about to ask you what drum samples you used....

Do you find it ironic that you're posting in this thread asking about using it for music instead of using it for music? You should.

Link should be working now if anyone's interested in listening the most amazing track of their lives. Just saying.

Sounds like you went back to the 90's, rounded up CoLD SToRAGE and Underworld, plopped them in one studio, and told them to improvise a song in one take. Sure if you gave them time to compose, they might've come up with the most amazing track of anyone's lives, but with only one take they just barfed up a bunch of really good ideas, threw them together and did their best to make them make sense in the structure of a song. The turnout is raw, jamlike, and wildly original, yet confusing and flaw riddled, with potentially excellent ideas being executed in not so excellent ways.

The break at 3:25, the psychedelic build in the middle half and the outro are probably the best parts of the song. The rest is mostly just uncooked acid soup. I think this song could do with a lot of reworking to turn it into an actual song. At the moment, it sounds like an synth jam recorded live, like a live performance of a yet to be finished song, which is alright, but doesn't work in the sense of a complete song. It needs more work, regarding the timing and movement of your acid lines, your overall mastering, the way your harmonies are working together, and the timing of specific sounds. It's tricky to pay attention to detail when you're making long form songs (I would know) and simply focus on the big picture, the large form of your song, but big songs require attention to detail to succeed just as much as small songs do.

OMG WhiteNoise, its incredible how accurate all your descriptions are and how deep your musical understanding and sensibilites are. Because that is exactly what happened. Recorded in couple of takes with alot of synths working simultaneously it makes little sense in the beginning and the mess in the middle but sometimes i find its better to leave "uncooked" parts in the middle, not because it feels raw but to make the cooked parts sound that much better when they hit you. Its a stupid theory I know. It pretty obvious which parts I paid much more attention to and which parts I just let crazy synths dictate the direction of the sound. Thanks though for the feedback!!!

That's not that bad of an idea actually, I might try that on something...

I may be getting a MIDI contoller this holiday season with a plethora of rotary dials, which ought to help with the jamming. Mice/keyboard are just too constrictive.
