Paul Oakenfold is coming out with a new cd in july!! I just found this link of a free teaser you can download here: https://rcpt.yousend...ade994aecaadb24

It sounds like he is going back to his trance roots!! Did anyone travel to California for Electric Daisy Carnival? He played a great set! :D

I didn't go because I was lazy! but heard from around it was massive with 80,000 people..that's more attendance than a entire year of Clippers games!

Who else did you see there?

I saw eddie, fedde (he wasn't that good), atb, benny, paul van dyk, the sanchez brothers, groove armanda, cosmic gate who were really good too! so many more i can't even remember! i was really surprised by paul oakenfold's set it was a great ending for the first night for sure! you should def go next year!!

I assume you live in Cali, cause i'm just a couple of gunshots away from the Coliseum.

Would like to see Sanchez brothers and Benny especially.

At least 3 more events remain that I can possibly go to, including NYE!

I had a chance to give this a listen. I was pleasantly surprised. Originally I was a bit discouraged by seeing a bunch of Perfecto label artists with multiple tracks each on this release, but overall the sound is good. It definitely has the vibe of Oakey's early millennium live sets while retaining a modern feel.

At one point I was a huge fan of the man's sets but he lost my support long ago. I don't think he'll ever get my respect back, but this outing is certainly a step in the right direction.

Never liked Oakenfold. Not my style.

Yeah, I'm aware he's not received very well around here. I think there are a few fans of trance and progressive in the forum, so I guess my post is directed at anyone on the fence.

Think about it. I couldn't even give his CD a good review without dragging him through the mud...

One more thing...

Despite my positive review, the last track by Robert Vadney, Club Perfecto, is really, really awful. A perfectly good mix is closed out with this garbage.

Sad.
