8O HOLY DONKEY NUTS.......coachella now just added Madonna!

I'm not a big madonna fan by anymeans...but i must say i really like the album "confessions on a dance floor" :-//

wow, coachella really did a 180 with that second date.......first massive attack and now madonna...holy crap 8O (they'll probably play at the same time though :P )

day by day my hunger to see daft punk gets stronger!!!!!!!!!!! :( ........WHY DOES COACHELLA HAVE TO BE SO FAR AWAY!!!!!!!!!! }:-@

Wow! That's a bit of a shock! Massive Attack is supposed to be playing just before Tool, I assume on the main stage, but they'll have to rearrange something now, I guess..... I wonder if this means there's any chance of a Stuart Price DJ set earlier in the day.

Oh, Madonna is in the Sahara Tent, so I'm assuming she'll be closing it out instead of Oakenfold. Thus, a Tool/Madonna conflict.

I'm already taking Friday off, and there's no way I'll be able to swing taking Monday off as well.

Plus at this point, Coachella is still out. Don't think stash would be keen on seeing Madonna! X-D

Madonna is a reason NOT to go, are you people on fucking drugs or something? She's an old, used, nasty pop star... She's Christina Aguilera at 45.

your right, but do i have the balls to go cross country by myself?.....Not really, I'm not of age to get a hotel/motel room or to do just about anything. So I'm gonna try and do my best to recruit someone else thats older to go with me (perhaps my sister cause she likes madonna alot) as soon as possible because their is high chance of coachella sellingout sooner then later, just because of Madonna.

But unfortunately like their live tours also their DJ performances died out with only a handfull appearances after 2000, and since Thomas Bangalter got problems with his hearing after dj'ing with Cassius and DJ Falcon for their tour in 2002 he announced to quit dj'ing for good.

he was to play in dublins spirit nightclub around that time but cancelled it.

and btw fuck madonna

Too bad your country has mental laws regarding hotel rooms and drinking. I highly recommend cross-country or cross-Atlantic travelling on one's own! But you need somewhere to sleep and a whole lot to drink to make it fun.

Twenty-one......? What a pisstake! I think this is my biggest hot topic right now. Ridiculous. We can drink at 18 here and look how I've turned out!!!! Oh wait, never mind. :D

.........................................................

As for the fora, well I don't think that there ever was an official daft punk forum. The only good daft punk forum around the time of Discovery was the daftcrew, but for a kinda childish reason it seized to exist (but is coming back without daft punk). There are however a few good french fora that are pretty good, and have inside info.

But it's true that at the moment I'm indeed one of the few non-french ppl that spread the word from that forum and some e-mails I recieve, so alot of info never reach the international fans I guess. But I can't hold myself responsible to inform all fans all over the world (also I'm not a huge daft punk fan, I love the french scene in general, and since HAA I've been concentrating on alot of different artists (though often old stuff) in the first place.

....................................................................

As for more tourdates, the tourdates confirmed sofar are:

www.labels.tm.fr/fr/concerts.asp?artiste=DAFT%20PUNK

Also a few more Belgium and French dates seems to be confirmed (though not yet on that site). It's looks like they are going to make a relative big tour this year.

he also relayed on the message that HAA wasnt a completly serious album and we can expect stuff in the future

he posted this http://www.home.zonn...erink/index.htm which has almost all their past set lists for live gigs and dj sets

Good tracklist.... and "Also a few more Belgium and French dates seems to be confirmed" .............. MY FAVOURITE PART OF THE POST :D

I can't wait to live a Daft Punk gig... A few time ago I thought I would never be able to see that in my life, but I was wrong :D

Not sure quite why I picked this thread to post in, but....

Apparently the Smiths turned down $5 million USD to reunite at Coachella. Wow.

I saw Morrisey at the first coachella, I think it was... and by 'saw' I mean 'I saw him as I was walking past to see someone cool play'

Morrissey looked old and tired at Coachella. He exuded an "I don't want to be here" attitude that could be felt as we stood on the sidelines pondering whether or not we should waste our time or walk on by to a cooler act.

I liked the Smiths n'all, but I'm sorry. I think Morrissey is a whiny bitch.

he edidnt speak to the NME for 10 years coz they dissed him. what a twat.

he also needs to sort his flock of seagulls quiff out. though he might have done this recently, i dunno.

I would tend to agree with the above assessments. $5 million, though. Hard to turn down, even for a washed-up rock star, I would imagine.

I'm actually glad the reunion was turned down. Johnny Marr and Morrissey had a bitter falling out so long ago - I would be more inclined to raise some eyebrows if they agreed to reunite solely for the money and not for music's sake.

I know 2 people who've had nasty run-in's with Morrissey. I know everyone is entitled to a few bad days per year, but he seems like such a... such a twat as you say, mippio! A friend of mine, this girl Roxanne I've known for years accidentally bumped into him at a record store in Los Angeles a few years back. Neither he nor she were looking where they were going, and *bump* their worlds collided, not dramatically, but in sort of way that happens when Morrissey tries to go in through the clearly marked out door even though there are people coming out. She looked up at him, realized who she was and and sweetly said, "Oh, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to bump into you" and Morrissey just said, "Well, you need to watch where you're going." At which point my friend said, "Oh fuck off, Johnny Marr is better than you!" X-D

Another sour run-in was when my ex roommate was at a Morrissey show, I think it was at the Hollywood bowl about 12 or 13 years ago. She was up at the very front and when Morrissey came out, it was like the entire venue swarmed the stage and it was like a riot. My friend ended up getting crushed along with a number of other people who suffered all sorts of ailments from sprains, cuts, concussions and broken bones. All the injured people were hauled to the backstage area while the paramedics were called in and of course the show was cancelled. The injured folks were lining the hallway, and Morrissey comes walking by, stepping right over people looking straight ahead even though his fans were sitting there bleeding and with broken bones. My ex roommate was sitting next to a guy who had a compound fracture, she said his arm looked like a half cooked noodle. He looked up despite being in excruciating pain, he said hello to Morrissey as he was stepping on by. Morrissey didn't even stop, he kept walking but looked behind him over his shoulder and fucking sneered. Sneered! What happened at that show wasn't his fault but for chrissakes, giving your fans a dirty look is totally disgusting. It took him forever and a day to muster up an apology. Either he needed to fire his publicist or be a decent human being and offer a little bit of sympathy.

I'm kinda torn on the idea of a Stone Roses reunion, were such a thing to ever occur, as has been rumoured approx. 1 trillion times. Thoughts on a napkin?
