Fucking hell.

If i had to discribe the party i went to yesterday i'd say : Sick , amazing , ape going , awesome , heavy sweaty sexy beat loving uber phat party.

But that isn't even the right desricption!

Dieselboy from the US was playing and he got the roof on fire man , i mean i went to MANY MANY MANY ( So many that it's becoming a bit boring ) DnB Party's and it's very rare that i see a place explode like this. People always go ape , but this was sick man. Just sick. People totally lost their minds and nobody gave a shit.

Just the way i like it. WRAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!!

Btw , the DJ spinning before Dieselboy played the DnB Remix of Galvanize. I'm not sure if i like it SO much though. The Galvanize loops are to slow , they have to much the fast beats ( if that makes sense ) but anyway it was cool. My friends were screaming to me " This is your song jeanie !!!! " Hahahaha.

And i dont have a hangover cause i didnt drink. I think i am kinda getting out of that phase really. It was fun to be pissed every weekend but is it worth the killing hangovers the next day ?! Hmz.

Today stash, our son and stash's mom drove up to Big Bear Lake which is up in the mountains. It's about a 2 hour haul from where we live, but it's been so gorgeous out and the drive is so totally worth the long haul.

A few days ago we got a bug up our butts to look into renting a cabin up in the mountains so we could do a little something different over Christmas, now that we have a bit more money to spend. We figured if we got stash's mom, stepdad, sister and her husband into the deal we could afford the cost of renting a cozy winter cabin so we could have a white Christmas high up in the mountains.

It was a beautiful drive up the mountain and an astoundingly clear day. As we drove up the mountain highway we rose above the layer of funk from the surrounding inland empire below and into the crisp mountain air. It was considerably cooler and such a bright day. There were some parts of the drive that were devastated from the big fires the area suffered through not too long ago. Trees that once stood lush and tall on the mountainscape were little more than large burnt black sticks protruding from the steep hillside and it looked so sad. Luckily though, at least on parts of the drive, the burnt out areas were in patches - still plenty of full trees plus new growth spruting up.

We drove toward Big Bear Lake which is about 30 or so miles of twisty once you reach one of the summits. This area was largely untouched by the fires and it was so beautiful seeing this brilliant sunlight and blue sky peering through the thick branches of what seemed like neverending pine trees.

Further along we drove past Snow Valley which is a ski run that looks so bare compared to the mental image one has in their mind s about snowy white ski runs filled with skiers. It was also home of the Organic rave in 1996 where I suffered bad altitude sickness that made me miss out on what would've been my first ever Chems gig. It wasn't strange that I started wondering what would've been if I'd gotten to see the Chems perform back then, like, if they would've made a lasting impression on me (I hadn't really heard them before that gig) and if I'd be here now and such a big fan if I'd gotten the chance to actually be there "back in the day."

I also realized that it had been since about 1996 or 1997 since we were in Big Bear Lake last. It seems as far as we've gotten the other few drives up the mountain was Lake Arrowhead which is 30 miles before you hit Big Bear.

Basically, the day was spent lulling about the small town of Big Bear Lake, chowing on some awesome Mexican food, and driving by looking at many cabins and charming chalets. We found the coolest cabin that we wanted to rent - it even had a jacuzzi and a yard to make snowmen and have snowball fights, and was a hop skip and jump away from the lake and town center. It's so friggen awesome up there, I just love it. The air is crisp and clear and clean, the town is relaxed and kick back, and that is where I want to spend Christmas which also happens to be my 11th wedding anniversary.

I hope the cabin thing works out. Anyway.

The drive back down the mountain at night was horrifying. I waved at Snow Valley and sighed wistfully. My mother-in-law is a terrifying driver. I thought we were going to die.

Now I'm home. My ears are still plugged and my gastrointestinal tract seems to be off kilter from being up in high altitude all day. But ah well.

The end.

I love the mountains in Colorado. The mountains in Alberta and British Columbia are stunning as well, but don't match up with Colorado's beauty, as far as I'm concerned.

Jeanie, we'll go to the mountains. Everytime I go up to the mountains I wonder why I don't go more often because it's really not that far.

If your schedule wasn't so full between Christmas and New Year's we'd love to have you along as part of the family!

It is really beautiful up in the Big Bear and Lake Arrowhead area near me, a different world than the one of concrete and low lying mountain ranges and canyon hills from where I live. But having spent some time in Montana at the Glacier National Park and up in Alberta in the Lake Louise area, as well as driving through the Colorado rockies, the majestic beauty of that landscape just takes my breath away.

Would love to visit the Swiss Alps one day, that would be amazing.

Forgot about Glacier National Park. The Going to the Sun Road is pretty high on my top scenery list, while Waterton Lakes National Park on the Canadian side is really nice and was still very unspoiled by civilization when I was there.
