Vorp, don't sweat the post count stuff... there are new people, then there are n00bs. There's a huge difference, and there's a lot of people here who haven't been posting long who were never 'n00bs'... or you got Biff, who's been here for years and only has 300 some odd posts.

I think we should sticky this thread to the front. It is not my thread so it is not my call - I will let stash decide. Might be a good idea. That way if anyone questions why a thread was deleted or whatever, then they can rant and rave here and not hijack other threads or start new "this place has become boring" threads for the millionth time.
I know sometimes my modding (deleting troll posts aside) is an emotional response to the issue(s) at hand, and that is not always the right way to react. I admit. I do it to keep the peace - or to prevent idiocy from prevailing. I don"t mind being called on it, or being told "hey whirly you are being a right bitch by locking my thread" or whatever. I may be a bitch sometimes but I am reasonable once I"ve calmed down. There"s an explanation for just about every action taken on the board when it comes to moderating. It"s not all erratic behavior though in all honesty I can see why it appears that way.
I mean really - do you want a detailed explanation as to why the Ed and Lily thread went bye bye? It is less to do with what was being said... nothing bad was being said by any of us and I think we have all been respectful in that regard with defending and sticking up for Ed. It was more to do with the thread as being a gateway for trolls and lurkers stopping by. Some of you may find the idea strange or stupid, but given all that has occurred in the private life of Ed Chemical, you never know who is reading. Yeah, a good deal of that thread was ridiculous - but let"s be real. Where would a person go if they were looking for the inside scoop on something? Why, the official website of course!
And also it is about respect. Plain and simple. There is a damn good reason IMO why the Congratulations Ed and Lily thread went away.
In a perfect world we would have private messages to sort this out, but that isn"t the case here so it may as well be laid out publically so everyone can have their say.
