Just wondering if anyone can help me with my quest.

Have really enjoyed Ed's early evening sets at the Westbury in London the last couple of times.

Each time he has played a tune which is fantastic - a simple drum beat which just gets everyone jumping. Even Ed was dancing like a mad one to it. It just stands out from the beautiful melodica because of its simplicity.

I don't suppose anyone knows what i am talking about - i.e what it is called by any chance?

Talking about a beat that even makes Ed dancing caught my interest! Do you have any tidbits on youtube as a sample? I'm eager for hearing that sound!

Haven't got anything i am afraid. I see that Ghostyflakes was talking about a brazil-afrobeat affair that he apparantly played in paris - that sounds like it could be the one.

Bearo, thanks for coming by dude. I've been curious about the Ed sets for quite some time. It seems they come and go and we get an odd post here and there from someone who has gone. I wish I knew what song you were talking about. If anything springs to mind or if you come across anything in youtube land, come on over and post it.

What was the rest of the set like?

The rest of the set is always good. Its early evening so a lot of people aren't there. There is just lots of stuff thrown in so very varied.

That's cool to know, Bearo. I think it was someone else (can't remember who) that said Ed's sets were varied but ambient. Or maybe that's my memory being fuzzy. Anyway - I'm glad you came back and didn't do a hit n'run with the posting. Whenever we forum people have asked others who've gone to see Ed's sets what the shows were like, they never come back.

Getting to see Ed dj solo - another thing to put on my to-do list. *sigh*

Not sure what this could be, interested to hear about Ed's sets in any way?

If it's one the brothers play as well it could be:

Roy Davies Junior "Maximum Overdrive"

think Ed only plays solo for the Black Rabbit guys, they do have a quarterly (I think) residence at Turnmills for Together so keep an eye on the line ups and one of these days they might have Ed as a guest, otherwise it's the Black Rabbit parties at the Westbury Kilburn only.

"get him down to Error then"

Yeah, we're getting that sorted - main issue is security as we've only got a 70 capacity venue *lol*
