ran into/chatted with both tom and ed around 4 times each at this stage always down to earth and always a pleasure. first time at turnmills was me and jeanie spotting ed wandering through the back room of turnmills and us walking up and saying hi were irish and jeanie from the forum. then ed bought us a drink and chatted to all the forum gang for hours. last year at turnmills was good as well especially when ed asked me was slipvin here tonite. tom coming down to the us after the summercase dj set with beer in hand for us was also another one of those forum moments

Always nice to read first hand accounts of Tom and Ed encounters - I think it's cool they take the time to hang out and chit chat like they did with irishfan, Jeanie and others. They really don't have to, but they do and that brings a real, down to earth, human aspect that extends beyond the music we hold in such high regard. They are only human after all.

Maybe chemd'up will tell his story of how Ed saved NYE 2006/07. ;)

I was absolutely shocked when I found out that Ed was chatting with Irish and Jeanie at Turnmills and asked "Where's the Canadian guy at?" in reference to me. (I'd been excitedly posting in anticipation of flying over to London for a couple weeks beforehand.) And then I let him down by not having a cigarette for him when he asked me... heheh

Even better though is that Mips offered him a Drum rollie a couple minutes later and Ed turned him down.

hehehehe

ah.. I can just image it now... people randomly throwing cigarettes on stage like girls throw undies.... just in the ratio of 100:1 ! I would be/am amused.

hehe... and jeanie, are you already trying to change Mips? ( c: (just kidding)

Offcourse! I fucking hate cigarette smoke!

Nah Mips already tried to stop once, but he didn't succeed. I'm just extra motivation for him to stop ;-)
