I just take Bay films for what they are: 90 mins of ridiculous explosions, attractive women, simple stories, and more explosions. Real men need these kind of things in their life. Sure you can be one of those men who are in touch with their feelings and watch a film with subtitles in your beret, that's your choice, but the rest of us have testosterone to create and Bay gives us the means to fill our balls.

The Hunger Games is based off a series of books, my sister's read them, so I don't know... any similarity to Battle Royale would have to be adaptational.

I hope you and your sister never get stranded on a deserted island. KILL HER FIRST!

Did you actually read my post? Because I said I love The Rock. I´m an action film fanatic but a fan of the good, fun, exciting action films...I´m talking here French Connection, Ronin, Sergio Leone, Tarantino, Bourne,John Woo, Bruce Lee etc etc etc. i would list hundreds of movies (hell, i love True Lies and the Jackie Chan Police Story films are great).

There´s a long long distance between those movies and, well, Transformers.

I did read your post. Yes I wouldn't go and compare Bruce Lee with Shia La Bouf but i'm just saying now and again we need to put our minds aside and let in the onscreen excrement. It's like a reset button for the mind.

I found this Transformers thing a bit insultating to cinema lovers

Hopefully he won't make the next one! Hopefully a reboot!

Why is that attractive actresses (or models) that are in the midst of this big action sequence in the film are never dirty! For some reason, their clothes are really clean....really! Just another example Mr. Bay lacks the attention to detail and realism even in the small areas in T3! But the film tries to make up ground for the last turd (T2) and it still has miscasting issues (example: Tyrese again...WTF!) and the 'throw in your face' type action, (overdone IMO) and despite not listening to fans (and Hasbro) he still falters on his own ideas!

There's a jumpscene in one of the action sequences that pissed me off!

Just watched Super (2010). It's a low budget Kick Ass, where nothing really goes as one would hope. I thought it was decent.

It looked better than Kickass -- is that the case IYO?
Kickass really disappointed me. There were bits in it that were cool, but I suppose that the type of movie that I really wanted was that Scott Pilgrim.

Not as good as an adaption like 'Azkaban', but DH2 was a great finale! One of the top 5 this year so far!

....and this came on before the movie ( but eventually will be taken down in a bit)

No, Kick Ass was better but if you were disappointed by Kick Ass then you may prefer this. I understand there is another similar film from around the same time called Defendor (2009) which I haven't got around to watching yet. I had the exact opposite experience with Kick Ass, I did not want to watch it but I was forced to and to my annoyance I really enjoyed it. The same thing happened with Scott Pilgrim. Bastards.

The nice artwork is misleading at least, it is a very, very violent film. Brutal is the word. I don´t know if anyone here has seen the infamous Come and See, but this made me remember that film.

I'm going to judge a film by its box cover and say it looks like one of those nancy boy subtitled films.
