I still reckon there is going to be a live DVD/album released for Christmas. The Prodigy have one on the way. Groove Armada already have an excelent one, as do Underworld.
The Chems have got to be next and I reckon these Christmas dates here in the UK will promote it.

Thanks Biff for the rarities track. I was so amazed when I first heard the 'crazy drums' version of ibia. I was actually on the train when I heard it, so the repetitive movement of the train and the passing landscape seemed to add to the music in a strange way. The way that bass drum and rolling beat keeps going, it's just really infectious to listen to. I think the demented fire alarm noise really adds to the version too (and there's other cool samples like the 1234 from base 6 and another sample from h.a.r.). Does anybody else think it may have started out as here come the drums, because of the way it focuses on the drums and percussion? I also love listening to life is sweet live, because of how tim sings it 'freestyle' and not entirely like on the recorded version and it clears up some of the lyrics. 'It's good to be back with my brothers!' 8)

Thats so not fair! I wonder why they won't release one? This year would have been such a good opportunity as well because this years gigs have been the best so far. The current live versions of all their stuff are definitely the most refined they've ever been.
That new Kraftwerk live DVD sounds like its going to be amazing. Loads of interactive stuff plus a full 5.1 mix.
IF KRAFTWERK CAN DO IT SO CAN THE CHEMS!!!!!!

I think the Chems will release a live dvd in time. It may be further away than we'd originally hoped for, but that's OK. Good things come to those who wait.
I believe when they do release a dvd in good time, it'll blow our socks off. That's the thought that keeps hope alive.

So long as it captures their energy as well as Underworld's 'Everything, Everything' I'll be happy. I honestly don't feel that the live clips on the Singles disc capture their energy well enough. That might be due to the lack of a frontman, but there seems to be something elusive about the Chems as a live act that is tough to capture on recorded media.

The older version of IBIA is awesome as a standalone, i think it sounds very different from the album version and contains some interesting samples and percussions but taking "Here Come The Drums" would be a too simple title, i think.
And btw, don't smack me up mates but i think the "Life Is Sweet" live session is, ahm not totally, but ahm, how to say, crap! Tim doesn't hold the notes and at some points it sounds really blooey. Somebody, i guess Biff himself noticed that he sounds like drunk or somethin. Maybe thats the reason . . . And i also don't really digged the live version of The Golden Path for the same (not as gross as LIS)...
So now you all can knock me down!

I think if it were done right a Chems live DVD could be amazing. From what I've read about it from people who have seen it the new Kraftwerk live DVD is supposed to be mind blowing so if 4 guys with laptops can make a live DVD exciting I don't see why the Chems couldn't. And from what I remember of it the Kraftwerk visuals weren't half as good as the Chems stuff.
I agree completely that some of the live footage included with the singles collection wasn't the best. But there have been good televised performances over the years. The Glastonbury 2000 footage caught the atmosphere and excitement pretty well I thought and the live footage I've seen of the 99 Red Rocks performance was pretty good too, quite energised
I loved the feature that Underworld put on Everything Everything which enabled you to watch just the screen footage on its own. If the Chems did this it would be amazing. I have no doubt that if it were recorded right and in the right venue, perhaps Brixton or Glasgow, somewhere where they are guaranteed and electric atmosphere it would be an amazing audio visual experience. Imagine this years sets mixed in 5.1 sound? Rock n Roll.

No I think you're right... He sounds flat out smashed. I thought it would be good for people to hear since you don't get too many shows where the chems perform with a live singer. Still interesting though.
No no no, don't get me wrong! It's wicked that you have upleoded it, really. You're not responible for his performance! ;-)
