Ive been a great Fan about 10 years....but WTF was ROCK AM RING?
I looked forward to the WDR ROCKPALAST (german Television who broadcast nearly the whole Festival)....but then....only TWO Songs were shown on TV from CB. CB only want two Songs on TV from them! WHY? Are you so commercial? I dont think so. So...WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?
Still a great Fan of yours.....but dissapointed........

Blame the television programmers, not the Brothers. You're pointing the finger at the wrong people if you're assuming the Chems have control over what's shown on a televised festival event.

I really love to see them Live....and buy a ticket. But they are nearly NEVER on Tour. They played 2 Concerts here in germany for the last years....and hundreds of kilometers away from me :D
Every Band on Tour in Germany rocks Hamburg (germans second biggest City)....but the Chems not!
So it is only fair they let the german television tape the ROCK AM RING Show! For their FANS!!!!!!!![/u]

I totally agree with Whirly. The guy's ain't responsible for what is broadcast and what's not. I think the mature prop. was they aren't a real rock act (as for the definition) and that's what the festival stands for, so the tv channels set their focus much closer on those bands like Limp Bizkit ( i know they weren't there) 'cause they're much more popular in a commercial way than the brothers. They're a bit "reserved" of presenting themeselves ( they don't dance or destroying any guitars on stage). That could be a reason why program directors belive they don't fit in such frame ---> they're better and more "anarchic" in a way they build up their shows. Think of the loud noises within their sets... cool but not supposed for the ordinary audiance . .. that's my understanding. To me it's very unintelligible, wheb i watching the dvd i get goosflesh and i wanna dance to their incredible great music!!!!!

Sorry Guys but i CAN blame it on the Chems. ROCKPALAST wanted to show the full set but the Chems NOT! The Brothers prohibited the WDR to show more than 2 Songs!!!!!!!
I'm not trying to be an ass... and I understand your disappointment especially since this would've been a good opportunity for you to finally experience the Chems. But now that you've brought this up I am curious as to why you're led to believe the Chemical Brothers are solely responsible for there only being 2 songs broadcast on German television. Where did you hear or read about this? Do you have a source that you can direct us to that shows that they've actually said this?
At any rate, I think Csar brought up some good points regarding basic television programming and the nature of Chemical Brothers sets and how they translate to the general public. This seems to be an issue with a lot of gray areas, it's not just black and white. There's almost always other factors involved when it comes to stuff like this, especially when there's lots of heads involved.

On the TV (and i recieved an email from the WDR with the same) they said that they are NOT ALLOWED to show more than 2 Songs. Same for The Prodigy!
So it was NOT a decision by the Television Company!!!!!!

The WDR Rockpalast WANTED to show the full set (ROCK am Ring is not only rock). The Chems were the second Headliner this day ans played after IRON MAIDEN. Nearly all people wo saw Mainden went to the Stage were the Chems played. And we talking abount 20000 or more people. So the Festivalorgas know very well how big the Chems are!!!!

Look, Youre not gonna win, just give up already.

Criticize the Chemical Brothers music all you want, that's fair enough, but don't put words into their mouths regarding matters you seem to have no understanding of.
This is clearly an issue regarding the labels, music rights, liscensing, television programming, and a likely a host of other things none of us understand fully. I doubt they would deny their fans because they are dicks, or commercial - there are other factors, this was a televised event of a festival where a bunch of other acts were playing that might have deserved their time on the airwaves as well. The Chemical Brothers happened to get caught up in all this and, you accusing them of being solely responsible for you not getting what you want is cause for us to defend the Brothers when we see fit.
