Normally I really feel bad for people who have declined credit cards, I think that's why I'm on "declined credit card" duty at my job. I would say at least 50% of the time, it's the bank putting up a red flag because they are seeing that an internet auction site is trying to run a charge. I get a lot of people calling who may be angry at first, but it's mostly out of embarassment which I can understand. I have a couple of schpeels I rattle off to people that make them feel less like they're at fault, things are gonna be OK - that usually does the trick.
Other times there are people who bid up on tons of items, and the next day there's 20 credit card declines from some of these people. I hear all kinds of excuses (my car got broken into and someone stole my credit card, I get paid on Friday, my brother's sister's boyfriend's uncle's daughter used my account to bid on something for her friend's dog's original owners' best friend's grandmother's... heard just about every story)
You know, it's interesting. Besides there's obviously being very sad sad people trolling the internet, online auctions are a fuckin addiction. Our site went down about a month ago and it was over the weekend, which is really really bad news, caused a massive upheaval which lead to many many angry voicemails and emails from people who were acting like it was the end of the world. We've also had people call and beg us to please close their accounts because they simply cannot stop. And we'll close their accounts only to get a call 2 days later from the same customer begging us to please reinstate. It's a weird beast, this online auctioning stuff. I understand the nature of the beast but it's still strange all the same because I can see how it can negatively affect peoples' lives. I think most people don't bid for the merchandise they might receive, they do it for the simple thrill of outbidding someone else. I'm sure a lot of people I deal with have traded one addiction for a new one of online bidding.

he tells me to suck his dick, with which I reply, "I'm very sorry sir, I cannot accomodate your request. Goodbye."
Oh my god is that awesome. The stoic approach is always the best approach. I love dealing with fuckers like that. Wicked job, Whirly!

Yeah, it's been slow lately. My post count hasn't jumped much in the last few weeks. I remember one night Bosco and I got a little bored and just kept going back and forth. The humourous sexual positions thread came out of that evening. X-D

Jeanie, I think you'll want Cartoon Network - they're the one that show the Family Guy and American Dad repeats.
A shame about American Dad. It took a couple of episodes to find its stride and I don't think it caught on, but that show was lough out loud funny. I love Roger the boozing alien.
