Hey guys, here'S something I wanted to share with you.
Well, you never know what you stumble upon when you find yourself getting soaked in that vicious youtoobe cycle phenomenon .
So, when I started out looking for some nice synths and synth demos last night, I happened to trip over one piece by Alessandro Cortini - a former tour member of the NINs. I'm sure some of you have already heard of him and maybe about his latest solo career, I didn't. So I had to check out more stuff because what I heard was quite compelling. I was surprised.
His two albums BLUE (2010)and RED (2011) are filled with great crispy and rough synthesizer action, distorted vocals, analog soundscapes and awesome melodies. The majority of the tracks were written on the Buchla 200 and Buchla 200e, a modular synth (I guess the brothers could appreciate that machine, too ). I never heard of that thing before, but it sounds dope!
Here are some splendid tracks I really dig:
What I like the most is the originality of his tracks and the rough edged sounds coming straight from the playful anlog synths. Nothing is too polished and cleaned up as you have in loads of today's productions. The only flaw in his songs is, they're a little too short and almost all of them end abruptly.
Anyways, a great musician who I could see team up with the chems in some way. Besides I Break Horses one of the best discoveries for me this year.
If you like that sound, you can download a free track package off his website. It's defo worth it.
