As far as I know this will be first time the Chems have played the SECC so it'll be interesting to see what they make of it. I must admit I'm kinda looking forward to it more because the SECC is much bigger and won't be as hot and crammed as the Carling Academy, unfortunately I know the sound won't be as good, so a bit of a trade off there. I'm sure it will be amazing though.
See you all there. :D

They'll have the screens for sure but I don't know how many. Both the times I've seen them this year they've only had the three, the two smaller screens and the big cinema one at the back. The venues I've seen them in have both been to small for the five screen set up. Hopefully the SECC will be big enough for it. It will also be interesting to see how much of the SECC is open for the Chems. I've never actually seen a band there play to the full open arena, its always been sectioned off.
I don't know if the Chems decided to play the SECC purely becuase its bigger and they thought they could fill the whole arena.
Anyway this time tomorrow we'll be rockin!!!

Ohhhhhhhh I cannae wait! Leavin in 10 mins - it will take me 7 hours to get there from the Highlands, but im sure it will be well worth the trip. I'm just sooo excited, its gonna be something special. Only seen the Chems once at T in the Park in 2004, that was brilliant, I wonder how different this will be though. If it's half as good as last time ill leave a very happy man.
See all you lucky people there.
M'on the visuals!

seen chems at secc glasgow last nite, although they still rocked it wasnt the best ive seen them.mainly down to the venue, why did they overlook barrowlands and the carling academy, when these have far better accoustics and atmos, plus what was the deal with a 9pm start??secc is a shit venue for gigs,it felt more like a dj set than a gig.still had a ball mind u but a few more old tunes would have been better, only loops of fury was played.seen them 8 times now and best yet was t in the park 2 yrs ago whem tim burgess joined then on stage for life is sweet!!
GET BACK TO BARROWLAND NEXT TIME GUYS

Yeah I agree it wasn't their best. New intro to Hey Boy Hey Girl was pretty damm good though and a good surprise, and the new track they did where Hoops usually is sounded pretty good to. Generally there were some really nice little touches here and there as usual. Pretty much everybody I was with, and we're all Chems old timers including one mate who used to know Tom and Ed in the Heavenly Social days , thought it was a bit lack lustre though.
Terrible venue, terrible sound, I was about three quaters of the way back and it was no where near being loud enough. I've heard louder bands in the SECC. I don't know why they didn't crank the volume up a bit. Great lazers though, they seem to have more of them. In fact the light show was one of the best I've seen from them, really on form.
The reason it was in the SECC is probably that the Chems know they sell out the Barrows and the Carling in a matter of seconds and they know they can now fill the SECC. Shame though because it is a souless catle shed, and thats being generous
