I reckon sonically it'll be a Push The Button style album, less mind blowing effects and more raw notes. But musically it'll be more like Dig Your Own Hole because of what Ed was hinting at earlier on about how they had a bunch of darker stuff left over after PTB.
That would be killer. But they're pretty unpredictable, so who really knows? I'll bet everyone will get a nice suprise at the very least anyway 8)

Yeah I thought one more ontopic thread wouldn't upset the balance of the board too much. ;-)
Esp with this kind of info:
Miloco Studios Update for the month of May, 2006. http://www.miloco.co.uk/news/
Miloco One: The Neve Room:
Then it was time for The Chemical Brothers to grace us once more for a week of recording vocals and mixing for their forthcoming album.
Miloco Four: The Garden:
And last but far from least, The Chemical Brothers swung by. Which is always nice.
Plus they've reposted their Steve-Dub interview... because he is "about to rekindle his lifelong Chemical Brotherly love". http://www.miloco.co.uk/milocoblog/
hum don't the chemicals only record vocals near the end of the recording process and if there mixing it doesn't that mean they are near completion of some part of it

I dont think Ed and Tom spend as much time in clubs as they use to so I cant see much influence by current trends in electronic club music, which is potentially a good think as we can expect something fresh, hopefully.
noooooooo, want more tracks like Believe and galvanize (!)

Yeah I was really surprised and kept checking and rechecking the dates to make sure they were not talking about 2004.
Guess it could mean... anything... oh well. ;-)

yeah cause most of the vocals for ptb were recorded after the summer tour in 2004
i know tim, q-tips and anna-lynne william's vocals were recorded before the summer tour. dunno about the other 2 vocal tracks off push the button

i doubt in every case they record the vocal last. i'm sure the vocal is added when the time is right, and when they feel some one can add to a track. whether it is when they got a complete asembeled tune like enjoyed and thinking a vocal could take this track to another level. or whether they got a basic groove and have a vocal layer and build the track around it.
as for the mixing, in the steve dub i get the feeling the mixing is done throughout the recording process
I'm a fuckin doughnut

the magic numbers and kele vocals for believe were recorded after the summer gigs. not sure bout left right. in the steve dub interview he mentions for ptb they take one week recording then come back a while later to add to it .so maybe that is what they are doing with chemical 6

Dudley Perkins could be a guest on this.
yup, i read that article last week. Forgot to put to mention it to the board.
He's part of the Stones Throw label, which features a ton of great indie hip hop artists: Peanut Butter Wolf (founder), Madlib, J Dilla (RIP), and my favorite MF DOOM.

As is my wont in every thread of this nature, I want a Bobby Gillespie/Kevin Shields collaboration. 8-minute psychedelic/political/shoegaze/raw noise/electro/acid stormer.
If it sounded half as good as it does in my head it would be the rage of every dance floor in Europe.
(Would like to see the Chems produce for Missy Elliot, as well. Listening to the JLC mix of 'Loose Control' for the umpteenth time and it's still brilliant.)

The Chemical Brothers were in for two weeks with Tom, Ed and Steve Dub mixing six brand new album tracks. We eagerly await the results of those sessions.
