Bonjour my like minded friends!!
Ive been into the chems for ages now and love everything they do and i also love Orbital with a passion!!!!
The thing is is that i cant seem to find any other electronic band that does it for me.
Is there any other electro band out there that anyone can HIGHLY recomend.

you can awalys get into your prodigys, underworlds, daft punks and stuff like that but the thing with electronic music is that it is hard to follow a band. You might like one song on the whole album so therefore i recommend dj sets. By getting dj sets you are getting the vision of a dj and his best recommendations.
Ofcourse Chems don't apply to this rule. ;-)

Hmm. What hasn't been mentioned. Even sneakerbeater hasn't mentioned FC Kahuna, so I'll take that liberty upon myself:
FC Kahuna.
The Orb.
Also the new Thievery Corporation is pretty cool, and so far what I've heard of the new LCD Soundsystem sounds cool.
Thing is aphextwins, you're in a tough spot. You're spoiled by the Chems. ;)

If you like the Chems and Orbital, you need Underworld to complete the Holy Trinity of dance music. Simple as. ;-)
If you don't already know their stuff (besides Born Slippy), a good place to start is the 1992-2002 singles collection.
Those three are the most consistent electronic dance bands. Basement Jaxx, Primal Scream, Prodigy etc have done some good stuff, but they've come up with some real stinkers too.
Beyond that, it's down to individual DJs such as Jeff Mills, Felix da Housecat etc.[/i]

Not sure I'd call any of Primal Scream's post-Screamadelica work a stinker (yes, even Give Out But Don't Give Up has some decent moments; although, it's anything but an electronic album). Vanishing Point and XTRMNTR are absolutely essential purchases for anyone who considers themselves a music-lover.
And, as everyone has already said: Underworld!

I don't think I'd even call Primal Scream a 'Dance Band'.... I mean, besides the Chemical Brothers remix.... you could mosh to xtrmntr i guess, but dance?

Well, "indie-dance", I guess is where they slot genre-wise, but that's a pretty eclectic genre with a lot of stuff that you wouldn't really dance too (re: Kasabian, Chikinki, The Rapture). Certainly the Scream are very electronic-based, but you're probably right when you say that "dance" may be misleading.
I know I feel like dancing when I listen to Screamadelica, but that's not quite the same thing. "Dance" is the new term for "electronica", I guess.
They certainly run the gamut from housey to Kraftwerkian to ambient dub, all supposed "dance" sub-genres.
Songs like 'Autobahn 66' and 'Miss Lucifer' are pretty dancey though.
At any rate, I'm not the one who called them a dance band in the first place. 8)

no no, I know you didn't... screamadelica makes me wanna do that swaying, hippy, arms in the air thingy... at least when I'm high.
