This is because the Canadian authorities forced them to change their name to Les Frères Chimiques in order to allow them to play live in the blessed country of Godspeed You! Black Emperor.
This was just unacceptable for them. So, it was never going to happen and it also will never, unless the authorities change their minds. You'll have to hand in a petition!
It's a shame, but this is nothing but the truth.

Considering I've waited nine years for my favorite band to come back to my country, I'll make as many threads as I want about it.
And you'll be laughed at every time you do.
I've flown across the Atlantic Ocean to see them three times. I've heard stories of other people sit on a bus from your country to the U.S. to see them before. Generally, fans on this board go through a lot to see their shows when they're not convenient, and where there is a will there is a way.
So while I mean no direct offense, quit your bitching and drop your little act of self-entitlement.

From what I read since I've been on the forum, alot of the members here made more sacrifices than I ever had. One example is that never got a chance to see them overseas or go somewhere far to see them. My last attempt was the Olympia show, but couldn't save enough funds to get there.
But to those who braved the cold-as-ice trains or subways, or grueling flights, I got nothing on you guys!
But here's a toast to all who made a sacrifice to get to a Chems show (whether financially, or distance challenged)

It is incredible the sacrifices people have made and the effort that's been put out by some folks to see the Chemical Brothers. It never ceases to amaze me, the level of devotion. Jealousy is an ugly trait, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit envious of those travelers who are able to sacrifice their time and their schedules to raise the funds needed to go travel around the world and see their favorite band. Much respect because as much as I'd love to be one of those travelers, I am not among them and I'm not at a point in my life where I can be one.
I know if it were me and I were in Canada... going by my past experience with trying to save up for trips to the UK to see the Chems and falling short on disposable income... I don't know if I'd be able to financially make the sacrifices to see my favorite band if I were in Canada. It would make me so sad if I couldn't see the Chems... I don't know Redout's situation, it's none of my business why he can't travel to see his favorite band. I understand the frustration, though. I really hope the Chemical Brothers can make it back to Canada one day.

I can also understand the frustration, and the difficulty that some people face in their financial means is enormous. I sincerely wish any of us who are trying to make ends meet the best of luck in gathering enough funds to get us to the next Chems show closest to us.
However, when you make three posts in a relatively short time span bitching about the Chems not coming to you, something needs to be said.
