seriously, I remember a time on this forum where if you logged off for about a half hour you were almost guaranteed at least 3 new posts. Nowadays your lucky if you get 1.
Look at me, I sound like Slipvin!

Ah, to log on and see day old topics pushed to the 2nd page...
I suppose the lack of activity around here reflects the 'tween album breaks. Sort of like a Chemical hibernation of sorts.
I also think part of it too is burn out. The We Are The Night tour was lengthy and the forum pulled in a lot of activity for the era - so if burn out is a cause for inactivity, then I'm not surprised.
It'll pick up as it always does. We just need some... freshness... around here. As God needs his 7th day, so do the Chemical Brothers hehe. The quality of tunes they put out will be worth the wait and hopefully the forums will be buzzing once more.
Forum Flatlining is a good observation. :P And I'm as much to blame as anyone else for the inactivity on the board especially considering how frequent I used to post.
For me, though I am OK, life in general has gotten exhausting and cumbersome - it's taken me away from a lot of things including my escape, this forum. I've been on somewhat of an emotional rollercoaster lately anyway, so it's probably for the best I don't let my moodiness spill onto the forums. I've really needed to spend less time on the computer in general. Just a lot going on.
That said, I check the board every day, several times a day, just to see what's what. I'll never give up on this place unless The Chems pull the plug and one day I go to log in and find this place doesn't exist anymore. I love the Brothers and I'm a fan of their fans - the Chemical Brothers have the best fans! And I will ALWAYS have time for the Chemical Brothers music. For the past couple of months, I swear it's what is keeping me sane.

we should just make up an entire series of the cliche topics that come before, during, and after an album release and post them. would that make us mental? everything being pretend. Here's what we'd need:
1. Ed dropping mention of a new ebw in progress.
2. A topic where someone goes and sees Errol, and he plays it.
3. A topic about Tong airing the new ebw, with forum orgy and someone selflessly posting a rip of the track.
4. Another topic about a track aired on BBC radio.
5. A topic commenting about the newsletter everyone got containing the title of the album and track names.
6. First single topic thread.
7. A topic where one or two people hearing the album discusses it, followed by someone posting a promo rip, which then get's deleted 5 seconds later. Then everyone writing their review, using the 1-10 rating system. 1/4-1/2 of the people will complain about a collaboration on the album and some of us will argue for it. We love you Ashcroft, Coyne, & Sammy the Salmon!!
8. Official artwork topic (found on Amazon.jp)
9. Topic of official release in which honest chems fans who first hear the album on the legit release date will post their review also using the 1-10 rating system.
10. Dozens of live review topics with youtube and flicker links. American fans fear they will get no tour love.
11. Some d-bag posts a "Will Tom & Ed Break Up" topic.
12. Second single thread, half the people will dislike the remix. Everyone will speculate why that awesome b-side wasn't on the album.
13. American live review topics!!!
14. (5 months after final show) A "come to India/Mexico/South Africa/Santa Cruz" thread.
so that's a lot of fake topics we have to make. a real labor of crazy love.

you forgot the thread where pitchfork media rates the new chem album .78/10 out of spite for not following their hipster agenda.
