it's just: the situation is shit and we want to have it changed, hm? so asking questions seems to be ok to find out if really another mod is needed. I mean, it is us reporting spam threads and sometimes they're open here for hours.
it is also a shame that palin's uncensored sex tape thread has been deleted.

When someone reports a user or reports a post or thread, there is a general area up top of the forum that moderators including myself can see - so we know where to go to mark it under review, completed, etc.. Any thread that contains a reported post are specially marked on the forum like a bad eyesore so when the moderators are logged in, they are easily noticed.

Aw, it wasn't me that deleted that - although my first instinct when I saw the title was to get rid of it until I saw that you posted it and it was a spoof! I think in light of all this spam it might be best to use some discretion with the thread titles (ie not use the word sex in conjunction with a celebrity/pseudo-celebrity name)

I absolutely agree here. Especially the past few days have been a pain with sometimes up to 6 spam threads open at the same time. This is nothing to blame Mod or especially Whirly for, I am sure they're doing their best to keep our forum clean. Thanks again
However, it's the way the forum is being run that is to blame. We've had a number of brilliant ideas by forum members regarding this topic and how to deal with it. A number of us have also agreed to help as mods, as impossibly Whirly or Mod can be here 24/7, as Whirly has said: there's a time to sleep and as far as I know, she's doing it voluntarily also (being a mod. not sleeping).
So, which action to take unless technical actions are being taken? I agree that this (technical features) might not be that easy, so why not finally "promoting" 3 or 4 or 5 of us, trustworty members that are online quite often/regularly, ideally coming from all over the globe to be here when others are asleep - a bigger number of mods, also available when others are sick or on holiday or do not have internet access or whatever. Is that so very difficult?
If those new mods had limited competence only (e.g. only responsibility for deleting spam threads or entries) that would help enough not to cause a mess with too many mods but to keep the forum clean and help to delete all spam quickly. Think about it, whoever is responsible.
Also, it has proven that every day, we have new "members" with weeeeiiiird names, usually made up from one single word with a number of letters making no sense at all, signing in here and remaining silent for a number of days before starting with their spam shit. How to stop these?
I open this for discussion again as since we've debated the issue last time nothing has happened but more and more spam has shown up.
Cheers, GoldenEyes

As for older accounts I am slowly working to delete those accounts but with this software it's a slow and tedious process and will take some time.
I ask that you continue to have patience and to keep reporting the spam as it appears.
