Aren't most of the topics music-related anyhow? The only topics that would fit in the "General Discussion" would be like "How old are you?", "Where do you live?", "Are you for or against drugs?" and the chemicalboy89 eruption.

they are very formal titles general discussion and music discussion. i think chemical talk is perfectly named, better than banter. the problem with the old titles banter and gossip was they were ambiguiously named. what we need is to get our gossip folder, but with a new name. a name that says a place of non-chems talk. like i think whirlygirl suggested 'pub'.



i rekon we as the forum members think of a title for this folder for this place where we can talk shit. then when we are decided speak to mr admin, job done!!!

Me likes the chemical playground title!!! It's perfect for this place. Has anyone else besides sneaker and I tried pm'ing the admin about creating another forum specifically for off-topic stuff?

I think there's a difference between spamming up the place for the sake of spamming, and posting off-topic stuff just to get a decent non-Chems conversation going. I think it's perfectly natural to want to talk about other things - especially since we've all established common ground ie: The Chemical Brothers. It's a good way to get to know what other interests you might/might not have in common. It can be fun!



I'm all for off-topic discussion and I don't mind when some threads are hijacked. It's sometimes hard to keep conversations irl linear, you know, so how's the internet any different? A seperate playground for us Chemical children will alleviate a good deal of that problem along with off topic conversations muddying up the on-topic forum. In the end if that means less frustrated people, that's a good thing.

mmm WELL I THINK THIS FORUM IS VERY SPECIAL AND WE HAVE TO MAKE A ORGANIZATION (AT LEAST THE ADMIN SHOULD THINK MORE)

NOT ONLY MAKE 2 FORUMS, WHATEVER WE NEED AT LEAST 1 MODERATOR ....

i'm only intrested in reading chems stuff mainly. i'm not intrested in the mars, favorite movies or now playing threads. thats why we should have an off-topic area. i dont even no why i'm debaing this with you. you seem to be the only one in opposition

See that's the thing, Self Excel. Why should people like sneakerbeater and non-posting lurkers have to sift through off-topic bullshit just to get to the on-topic Chemical related stuff they want to read???



I don't understand why you're being such a smart alec with the whole off topic forum thing. I don't mean to jump on your case here, but come on.



I don't have ADD, and I really don't like people accusing me of having some mental problem because I read all the posts when I have the time. Why not, music is a hobby, and the Chemical Brothers fall into that time-killing category. Sorry if you don't read all the posts, that's your trip but I and a lot of other people here do. We'd like to see a forum for just Chemical related stuff ONLY - that's why we come here in the first place - duh - and we might want a seperate forum where we can fuck off and talk about whatever we want (especially since some of us feel comfortable with each other to speak of things other than Chemicals, and especially when things are slow in Chemical news!) - I don't want to piss people like you off because there's too many posts that have nothing to do with the Chems. I'd much rather avoid that altogether and have a seperate place so none of us are guilty of the degeneration of sacred Chemical Brothers topics...

seeing as no one had any serious objection i have submitted my proposal to the administrator!! hopefully we will have our own playground, and a new found peace and unity on our forum will follow!!
