I was really hoping that i would get to see them again on this tour, its been eight years since the chems have set foot in this country and im really starting to lose hope, i definitely would have thought this was the tour it was gonna happen, even when there was speculation they were going to go to Vancouver i was ready to buy a plane ticket there to see them only to find out it wasn't happening and my hopes were crushed again......it boils my blood to read the reviews some people write on here saying the chems live show was disappointing when myself and many others would give anything to see them again. Eight years, three full length cd's, a dvd, and a best of is too long to wait for any band to skip a country like Canada......like really i just dont get it. And for those of you who are going to say just go to new york or any of the us shows.....yeah well the US border laws are fucked and basically im not allowed in and i know tons of others in the same boat. I guess the Chemical Brothers just dont like Canada cause they avoid it at every cost and go to every other country in the world on every tour.....that breaks my heart.

sorry for rambling im just heartbroken....again.

;)
He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

I feel bad for my neighbors in the North.

I don't think the Chems not touring Canada has anything to do with the Chems not having love for Canadians... There has to be some logical reason behind why they haven't made a stop there in so long. I remember 3 years ago someone from the forum explained what an unreal PIA it is to get work permits and various restriction (or something along those lines) that makes touring Canada real difficult. Can't remember the details but when it was explained at the time, it made sense... It would be nice if there was an official (or at least, a semi official reason) why the lack of Canadian dates. Canada has waited so long. I hope one day the Bros can work it out for you guys.

@ whirly, I remember ranting about the Canadian Border Services back about 3 years ago on how alot of bands get hassel for getting their visas and eventual acceptance to get into the country with all thier gear and road team. So that might have been me back then....don't quote me though. (and I'm bitching about getting my student visa right now for the UK)

Yes, it sucks for us Canucks. Not Even Toronto or Vancouver! that's like a failbot 9000. Now I have to wait and see if I can even catch them in Europe in the fall.

It seems that Canada makes it so hard to do tour dates that even native groups end up not playing there. For example Crystal Castles is from Canada, but they have never played a show there.

Metric doesn't seem to have any problem to play there though it's a canandian band.

Actually Crystal Castles has played Canada, i saw them in Quebec City, and if im not mistaken i think they are actually playing here in Toronto soon, ive been seen the flyers on the street poles but not sure of the exact date.....

And i dont think permits or visa's have anything to do with it, i see tons of bands and small bands i might add come through here from the states, europe, australia on a regular basis......

I've seen Crystal Castles in Canada as well, so don't know where that rumour came from.

Anyways, yeah, I'd like some Canadian tour dates too but to be honest Chicago is closer than Vancouver or Toronto for me anyways.

We have a really big promoter in Winnipeg who has brought the likes of Tiesto, Armin, Above and Beyond, MSTRKRFT, Eddie Halliwell, Sander van Doorn, etc. I'm acquainted with him and suggested he try bringing the Chems since he wanted to put on a really big show at the end of the summer but nothing came of it.
