Stash - that reminds me of Go - the most brilliant film bout selling exstacy pills! :) Now that was a director I really loved till he become regular hollywood junk.

I've not seen any Lynch films but I get the idea what whirly and stash are tryin to say. I have the same problem with Kubrick. I can understand his brilliance but I don't connect with it. He's on a similiar trip with long drawn out visuals with great huge sets with a lot of white colour and funny furniture - i get the pt, but it gets too drawn out and slow for me sometimes. Infact I remember having seen this brilliant brilliant synch of Floyd's Echoes with the best scenes of the film before the film, and I was so lookin forward to the film, my girl fell off to sleep halfway thru, I passed out soon too.

Was re-united with Dark City recently. I remember watching it when I was younger, and really like it except I didn't really grasp the full story. So I was on Alluc [www.alluc.org] and seen it in the sci-fi section looked it up on Imdb and realised what it was. Watched it - I think its excellent and to those who like sci-fi and haven't seen it, its a must. I really enjoyed it.

The director of 'Go' went on to do 'The Bourne Identity', so I think he's done rather well for himself. I do love 'Go' though, and was grateful when 'stash pointed out where the grocery store was in real life last time I was in Cali.

Guy who did Go also did Swingers.

I didn't like Go cuz it had that typicla Hollywood thing, where anyone who does drugs suffers terrible consequences.

I hate that. American CANNOT make a movie where someone takes drugs and just enjoys themselves.

I enjoyed Go, it was entertaining - I like how the stories intertwined. But yeah, the thing you pointed out was a real turn-off and I found it irritating!!

Another one from that time frame I found aggravating was that movie Groove. What a waste of celluloid!! Of course it had the obligatory "club patron takes E and goes unconscious and high drama unfolds" because... well, because that's what the kids were into, and people need to be aware of the dangers of dance culture. For dance culture fosters a depraved commonality that goes against the grain of family values and the American way. Puh-leeze.

We're still fighting a war on drugs here in the States, you know.

So anyway. Good call on Human Traffic, Darkstar!

k - here you go: Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle! They smoke dope, get hungry, go on an adventure and it's all a happy ending. And Neil Patrick Harris has a great time on ecstasy.

I LOVED Go. I don't remember anything to the effect that folks who do drugs get fucked up - it dealed with x in a very realistic way, except for the Macarena sequence where's he's trippin his balls off, and it IS a funny sequence. The director in question here is the LEGENDARY Doug Liman of Swingers fame! Swingers rocks! He did Bourne Identity and is working on the Bourn Supremecy, but he also did a Mr and Mrs Smith which I missed gladly. I was too shocked to hear Doug Liman was doin that bullcrap.

I LOVE the psycho dealer scene in Go where her friend's left back with him and he goes - do u wanna have sex? u don't wanna have sex or u don't wanna have sex with me? :D X-D

Also the lil strip thing Katie Holms does for him and where he's pumpin up the volume on Massive Attack's Angel to a crescendo as she takes her top off. That's how I remember Katie Holms - KEWL! - never saw her in any other flick since.

Whirly - Harold and Kumar is THE stoner flick in the history of Hollywood! Period. I find shit like Half Baked and that school totally bogus - they'r decent one time watches but I hate the way they show stoners as always losers hangin aroun smokin skank all the time and hallucinating their balls off on it and being jerks. Harold and Kumar was too cool in that respect - those two ROCK - get stoned and rock more! I CANT CANT CANT wait for the Amsterdam sequel!

I hear the Van Wilder sequel is horrible, is that true? Anybody seen The Rise Of Taj yet? Fuck, I was so waiting for this since Kal Penn becomes the lead in this film - a friend said it's fucked up - I'm still hoping he's off till I see it. But Harold and Kumar Go To Amsterdam is gonna own all films this yr! That's if they get their asses outta their bongs and get down to shooting it anytime this yr!

hahaha, I love Harold and Kumar! I had my doubts going in, but I came out of it being pleasantly surprised and we turned a bunch of friends on to it. That movie is a riot and has multiple viewing power. I do like how they play smart guys, not just stoned slackers. I think quite a few pages and months back we were talking about how the sequel is going to rock - whenever the sequel gets made!

I am still of the mind that the Cheech and Chong flicks will pretty much always be seen as the quintessential stoner movies. Even though Cheech and Chong they are portrayed as these stoner losers, they still rocked, the movies were funny, the movies enjoyed success and cinema wise they were ahead of their time because drug culture was never approached in film quite like that previously.

And about Kal Penn - he played a villian in the new Superman movie as well as the first few episodes of this season's tv show 24. It's weird to watch because no matter how hard I try, I still see Kumar and I half expect him to light up a doob. X-D

I thought that was him! I couldn't figure it out... it was messing with me seeing him fucking people up..

Haha, I was waiting to see Kal Penn in Superman too, but the dude's got not one dialogue in the film, except hang around as a nothing. Would have been fun to see him light up a doobie for Superman to make flyin more fun.

I don't watch tv so I haven't seen him on tv, but I remember seeing some film recently and just seeing Kumar. Damn, I really hope that sequel's out this yr, it would be wicked fun!

I almost feel like I'm writing in buzzed posting, I'll go back to riding my cheetah.

Just fast forward to the lesbo scene. You're not missing anything else :P

I've been watching Rome on HBO, it's pretty good.

Just found out HBO is doing one of my all time favorite book series, The Song of Fire and Ice saga, as a series. Gonna have a whole season for each book, which they'll need, since the books are all at least 1,000 pages. I'm stoked.

I absolutely love Mulholland Drive, one of my favourite movies. But I was just too exhausted and needed a late-afternoon nap.
