Oh come on, I'm not that thick, iggy!!! I know it's a film - I saw it when it was first released! A bad sequel, no comparison to the first one which is classic and seriously gave me a case of the heebie jeebies! ;)

I just think a bad sequel horror film like this is an eyebrow raisin'/chin scratchin' place for The Chemical Brothers to get a vocal sample from. Then again, those boys are full of chin scratchin' surprises!

Just one those those "things that make you go hmmm."

haha, I realise you know the film, I was trying to make sense of your post

Bam Bam sampled it first though, so it's kind of an unoriginal sample, and I don't think the chems got the idea initially from the film, but from the bam bam track.

I still love Acid Children regardless. They could've sampled farts in a bathtub for all I care. :D

My greatest hope of hopes is that it's released on cd.

Yeah, search for it! you can hear the words around halfway through "You are all my children now". It's a creepy track, it kind of bores me to, not a patch on Acid Children.

After purchasing said 12" recently and being quite excited about new Chems offering. I have to say I am quite dissapointed. Been a huge fan for about 10 years, seen em many times, have all rarities etc. Does sound like they have knocked it up in an afternoon with not much thought. Quite plodding and unimaginative. Seem to be relying heavily on a poor sample. Really hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

Sure you've got a genuine EBW7 and not a dodgy bootleg of a different record, just with an EBW label?

Aye, I have the right record. I just don't see what the fuss is about.

It doesn't come near any of their previous work and sounds really dated and trad. I can imagine if you heard it on a dancefloor in a dark club really, really loud it would get the desired effect but I don't think you should have to do that for a record to be good.

Are you comparing this to the previous EBW's?

acid children is nothing ground breaking agreed. it is very much in the vein of the whole electronic battle weapon series. music that is made for where it works best, on the dance floor!!! i love it, its very minimal and simplistic but devistating. i'd wait till chemical 5 for the ground breaking shit

As for myself, I consider that the EBW are made specifically for the gigs and the dancefloor.

It Began In Afrika, for example, is really unforgettable when played during a gig (for example during the Come With Us Tour - I was in Paris in 2002).

It's a fine track on the CD but ...

well it's like a wild animal in cage, if you understand what I mean... and during the gigs, the animal is unleashed :)
