Ah ah, thank you for your attention Eis-T, the fact is that I'm very hard to please with music and more with what i'm doing...
The thing I hate is to listen something i've done and to tell me "oh no, I should have done this at this point, not that..." etc...
It's very cool to see you liked it :)

cool, but you might slow it down a few BPM. it feels a but too rushed to me. Also the snare needs more punch or just a bit more volume. other than that, great job!

With my band, The Mississippi Delta Beats, we've recorded a country/blues/electronica track. Something totally different than the other music posted on here, hope you guys like it:

^ Haha! That's some fun shit right there. Not the greatest music in the world, but I love the mixing pot of genre attitude of the band. Going to try something with a similar attitude when I get to college this coming fall.

I went and listened to all the stuff you have posted on your channel. You're definitely playing to the genre conventions of each style to their fullest - the techno parts are very techno and the country/blues parts exceptionally so as well. This definitely works in your favor. Working within a genre can give you loads to work with rather than constraining you and combining the two genres makes it original work, instead of work using strict genre conventions as a crutch. On the other hand, your music isn't exactly the most... subtle music in the world. It's good accessible entertainment, but it's not very groundbreaking. More throwaway fun than it is art. But I think that's what you're going for. So good on you.

How'd you guys get started?

Thanks for listening and commenting WN! We are indeed just making music for fun without any pretention :) I used to be in a cover band which broke up because nearly all the members went on to study elsewhere. then I met the guitarist and after showing him my newly aquired drum computer we thought of combining blues with dance beats. we did a succesful jam session and invited some others to join us. After a year of jamming and song writing we are now busy recording and mixing. I thought I knew how to produce stuff in ableton but managing all these different tracks and making a good mix are more difficult than I thought.
I recommend you to find some people to make music with. The kind of music doesn't matter that much but together it is far more fun than alone.
In the end of the summer we will have some live performances and will (hopefully) sell some CD's if we manage to finish all the tracks in time. We now have about 11 tracks recorded of which i think 4 are finished or at least good enough in this state. I will keep you guys updated on other tracks we've got. There is a Depeche mode-like track coming up, a french chanson, an electro-rock appraisal of a girl named mary-jane and an acoustic ballad.

Eis-T - Unique sounding song, fun little jam. I dig it.

I don't know much about sound mixing, but it has the feel of a live track as compared to a studio production. Just an observation...
Gonna work it out...

Thanks, it is probably the lack of effects on the vocal and clarinet tracks (except for some small compression and EQ)that gives it a live feel. We've also decided to keep some imperfections in place because this isn't really "exact" music, and partly because we don't like to do micro editing in ableton live. I did a lot of automations and levelling already but you just can keep on going forever with this software! nice to see that you dig it. We've now recorded all parts and it is down to mixing and processing them properly. I expect to have around 11 tracks for the final product which will be available as a free download (possibly with a donate botton) and on a self released CD for about 5 euros.
