its just all about the vibe!!! gott didn't get the vibe, too bad.

going to see the chemical brothers live is an experience. its an audio visual assult, aimed at overloading all the sences in the body. its the perfect enviroment to experience their sonic experiments. where else can you hear their music sounding so perfect with bass that crushes you.

i'm sorry you thought the gig didn't live up to your expectation gott, but you are in a minority. most people leave a chems gig think they have seen the most amazing show on earth. thats cos the have!!!

Actually Tom and Ed care very much about peoples' reaction to their live gigs. It's one of the reasons why they first had a mailing list all those years ago. Not only to get feedback on their records, but also to get feedback on their shows. As they put it, "hear it straight from the horse's mouth."

It's OK, really it is, to have a negative thought about something Chemical - but that's not really the issue of the Cologne gig. What's being said is that the show was bad, but nothing too specific was mentioned as to what made this Chems show a particularly bad Chems show - except, it wasn't what gott was expecting. And to be fair to gott, at least he said the music was good so I have hope he got something out of the gig. I think he felt the stage presence and set up was lacking. OK, that's fine - maybe his taste for live gigs leans more toward the showy rock-n-roll thing.

Now if this were the ill fated pacha production Chems gig down in South America a few months ago, I could understand people being visibly upset with how the show went about. The concert-goers there had their reasons and very valid ones - even if what happened was completely beyond the Chems control.

Anyway - I am trying to understand where gott is coming from because there's been times where I've been to a show and felt it was a bit off, like something wasn't quite right, or whatever reason I could come up with. But yes, like stash, I am very protective of the Chems. Like he says after so many great songs and great live shows, I can't help it. ;)

No!! Always a pleasure to be in the musical presence of the Chems with you at my side (or bringing me water, whichever...) ;)

I was thinking along the lines of when I saw U2 9 times (some shows were better than others) Jerry Garcia (maybe I should've been high) and David Bowie/NIN (not that that was a bad show, Bowie blew Reznor out of the water, plus I was expecting Reznor to throw a full blown tantrum onstage like he did the night before)

Oh, and Peter Murphy and Apoptygma Berzerk can be added to that list of gigs that were a bit "off."

for my first live show there was nothing to be dissapointed about, when i saw them, they did everything, tom even picked up the mono/poly right at the end of PPR and went crazy on the knobs! went infront of the stage and ripped it up!
