I LOVE the electrobank video. When i saw it for the "first' time ( when being a chems fan ) i rememberd i saw it when i was a lot younger , i remembered i always watched that video cause i loved the gymnist in it !! And as Tom says himself, it's great how Jonze comes up with a rythmic gymnast by listening to this song. I think it's so original , and it never bores me.

I love Spike Jonze commentary on that video. It's hilarious.

I was watching a 'Chemical brothers half hour' on Q channel (yes, really) and they showed Galvanize, Setting sun, Hey boy hey girl, Let forever be and Star guitar. No Elektrobank though, and surprisingly no Believe.

Just thought it may be of interest...

Yeah, Sophia Coppola... my brother-in-law knows them. Spike Jonze directed some commercials that my Bro-in-law worked on.

Yeah, that was Sofia Coppola, director of Lost in Translation and The Virgin Suicides, and major hottie.

Smack My Bitch Up #42

Cmon whirly, Madonna?!

I don't care if it's Sofia Coppola, that video has nothing special.

She looks anorexic, most girls that try or have to be thin, I mean "extra" thin, suffer from that.

It's sad.

What!? What do you mean, come on? ;)

Whether or not you like Madonna or her videos is up to you, but the fact remains she was the pop princess icon of the 80's, and she dominated Mtv. I'm not a huge fan of Madonna but I know a lot of her music by default from spending hours glued to Mtv as a kid, and I find her to be an intriguing presence in the music industry even still. A lot of her videos pushed sexual boundaries (very taboo back then) and it's safe to say Madonna was the first to really use videos as a viable means to market her music as well as her ever evolving image. The result is, through the use of video, she outdid her competition, her own persona, and her fans who tried to imitate her. So yeah, I think it's appropriate she got as many mentions as she did.

Maybe I'm blind but Sophia Coppola doesn't look anorexic to me. She just looks like someone who is naturally slender. She's an accomplished woman who does her own thing, she doesn't need to live up to rail thin Hollywood standards!

Oh, and she's not been with Spike Jonz for quite some time. :( The movie Lost In Translation was sort of semi-autobiographical...

I remember when she had a more prevailent role in Godfather III (she wasn't credited in the first 2) and she got the bum rap. Critics slammed her because they said she got the role because of her Coppola name, and that she was ugly and couldn't act worth a damn.

I think it's great she's worked so hard to make a name for herself and is so successful and doesn't fit the Hollywood mold. Plus she still looks so young! More power to 'er.

If SHE looks anorexic than i look like i've been burried under the ground for 4 years and got back on earth :? For Real , she a gymnast , gymnast can't have any "extra" weight , but she doesn't look anorexic. I think you should look on the internet to see REAL anorexic people , cause even I am fat comparing to those girls. ( And guys! )
