Driving down to San Diego right now and just heard Hey Jude, and fondly reminiscing the last time I was at Coachella, on the field with the crowd all singing along. And of course we started talking about how The Chems bringing their magic to the desert... When I first heard Escape Velocity - that last song that hinted at how great the future could be. To first time in 1999 I saw the Chems play the first year of Coachella and I knew I was witnessing something amazing and special... And I knew at that moment I knew I was a fan for keeps. It's magic whenever the Chems play Coachella, and the days building up to seeing them play there again make me feel so warm inside. I may not have followed them from the very beginning, but it's times like this where I'm grateful and glad for this crazy and wonderful journey so far.

Can't wait!!

@Bosco, ohhh....talk about pressure......gonna need to find me a machete on top of that too.....
At least I am making some money by hawking my old stuff that I will never have interest in again. Have $100 so far. Made $35 so far in the last 2 weekends. Need about.....$500 more. I think I can do it.

@inchem, no character has the rolf effect that Bugs does.

They don't make good cartoons like they use to!

Looks like the Ryno/Bosco package deal is a go (depending on Ryno of course )

Seems fitting......that you're both on a mission from God!

As for me, I already ordered my tickets, booked the rental car, and just in case the shit hits the fan in the 'finding the hotel for all of us to stay in The Casa mansion de la Chems', I have an emergency rental hotel room (It's the same hotel I stayed at the last chems show, but it's the closest I could find!)

Still waiting for something closer to the show though...Any leads from you guys?

Looks like scalpers are cornering the Coachella market. Everything is selling out (regular camping, car camping, and VIP Passes). The moderator on the Coachella forum is already dropping hints that regular general admission could sell out very soon (she's legit, she doesn't kid). I think I'm gonna start a layaway plan. I would suggest the same for people who wanna go but don't have the cash to pay for a face value ticket right now. Looks like it will be an easy re-sell if you should need to pull the plug on the trip too.

I know it was very crowded last year!
And those who couldn't go last year due to the new ticket policy (one-day only event to three-day only) have saved up dinero for this one. And Since camping is full (due to those who couldn't book them in time) the hotels will go out faster I assume

Layaway is a good option...but so is House rentals, which I must say are hard to find. Must be because it's still too early! (duh)

After much deliberating, and after being reminded that I promised to bring him to see Tom and Ed play Coachella the next time they play there, it has been decided that Connor is officially ripe for the festival picking. We're planning on bringing him with us this time... so will do what we can because I really don't want to be guilt tripped by my son about Coachella again!

As for lodging, these plans change like undergarments when I'm concerned... Hmm. Pooter, I will call you sometime tomorrow to discuss. We'll be out there with you on the festival grounds but I think it might be in everyone's best interests if me stash and Connor bunk by ourselves - as it would be unfair to stop anyone's rock on account of us.

Anyway - who's going to the festival so far?

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Connor rocks, most definitely, but I'm not 100% sure who all is going to be hanging out and you three might run into some uncomfortable sleeping arrangements and possibly some NC-17 moments. :-(

I'm definitely going, though. Tickets ordered. :-)

Well I'm certainly smaller than 6' so looks like I'm Jake. And fittingly so, since Belushi is from Chicago and Aykroyd (Elwood) is from Canada. 8-)

Sweet! Connor's gonna love it there. His intensity level and energy is gonna give everybody that xtra boost! Plus, he'll have something to brag about when he tells his friends (and a few jealous teachers) at school where he went!

@Inchem

I realized how unprepared i was for this, lol.

I might have a few buddies tag along, but chances of them going is highly unlikely, now that hotels and camping onsite and off site is full, aside for those $300 a night ones(no thnx)..

Since i really just want to go for Friday, i can take the greyhound bus early on the day, and head back down the same night, and leave as soon as the first buses are ready, most likely till 6am. Thats Plan A
Now Plan C.. I can drive down super early and get my day parking out of the way, Once the Wonderful day is over, I can head back down the same night, drink a shit load of Rockstars and drive back down. or crash out @ the local Wal-mart parking lot. I know, sounds quite ugly... :?

But If u guys have a corner of vacant crash space willing to rent out to a fellow brother,it'll b super awesome. Will give some cash for it

Hey KNE - my advice on a hotel room (if you aren't able to bunk with anyone else) is to just keep on trying for a room. I know it's booked solid right, now but people are always canceling and changing plans. 2 months before Coachella a couple of years ago the closest cheapest place I could book was a Motel 6 out in 29 Palms which is quite a hike from Indio. But I kept calling closer cheap motels constantly to see if there were any cancellations. Finally about a week or so before the festival, I ended up getting a room about 7 miles from the festival grounds.

I'm confident you won't have to resort to Plan A, or Plan B... there's a lot of fucked up people on the road afterward (and a lot of cops) so the mother in me is advising you to not drive back directly after the festival! Hang in there, hopefully luck will shine on you!
