"Do you guys have some cheap solutions about how to remove the dust/fingerprints in the grooves of the records?" - I remember one guy (who had a record store) told me some time ago that i should use some plastic-cleaner first and then use a damp cloth for removing it. I never tried if it really works, also i'm not shure if it's that good for vinyl.

For almost as long as I could remember growing up, my parents and my brother used this vinyl cleaning kit called Discwasher. It included a handheld brush with a soft almost velour-like pad - and there was an alcohol based liquid you put on he pad. That little red bottle that said D4 on it is emblazoned in my memory.

I use lighter fluid..
you can buy specialist record cleaning fluids as whirls mentioned. they're pretty much the same thing - they're all alcohol or solvent based anyway.
pour some onto the vinyl, roll it round the grooves and then use a lint free cloth bring the dust and grime from the inside towards edge.
and make sure you open a window.

Has anyone had any experience with Midi Mergers?
What I'd like to do is merge M/Out from my drum machine with the M/out from a midi controller to my PC.
I havent heard too many good things about merging with a clock message. The drum machine will control the clock and the midi controller would send key signals to a VST on the pc. I want my drum machine to bo the master, but it looks like i might have to make hte pc the master.
Ideas anyone on midi merging? Experiences?

As I mentioned in the Bullshit Thread, I got me some Technics.
2 SL-1200MK 2's (black) to be exact.
I was able to buy them used through Craigslist. They are practically brand new, they don't look like they've even been touched. They both came with Odessey carrying cases which are valued over $100. And also with Ortofon Concorde Pro S cartridges which are also valued at $100.
All of it for an even $700
(thank you resold Radiohead tickets for making this possible! :P )
Now to selecting a mixer...

Well, temporarily i am trying to pay rent and doing this: http://cgi.ebay.com/...E:L:LCA:US:1123
it was either that or my machinedrum, either way, I am waiting for my big jump/promotion (60ish days away) and I won't have to ever sell anything on ebay again... hopefully. Basically my life feels like that movie Pursuit of Happiness, only I have to sell one of my favorite synths. Luckily I'lll be able to afford to build a modular in the near future..

If anyone owns a SH-101, you should try the patch they have there, it's been driving me mad to figure out what noise they use it for (the one in between SG & S2A?)
