It is a good cd, very good in fact.

But sorry, I don't agree it is an evolved version of the Chems - LCD is their own band making their own music - that doesn't make much sense to me, maybe I find that comment a little insulting and that's clouding my judgment, but... anyway. Both bands have arrived to where they are in different ways, they've done differnt things and gone different routes. Judging by what you've said in comparing the Chems to Daft Punk and now LCD Soundsystem, I take it you don't like the creature the Chems evolved into. And fair enough, it's another opinion

In which case, nothing more for me to say without getting into another pissing contest with you. ;)

Fancy way of saying 'Chems Rip-offs'

I wouldn't say LCD Soundsystem are ripping off the Chems, I'm trying to be reasonable in saying that JUNKIE doesn't like what the Chems have evolved into, and prefers LCD over the Chems right now. Maybe he can correct my statement if I misread him. Damn, the comparison to LCD and the Chems is not a fair one, I don't think.

Hopefully soon I'll have the cd, so you can hear for yourself. It's quite good, not very Chemical imo and I think you'd like it.

hmm... spot on whirlygirl, i dont like what the chems have evolved into...

and i stand corrected in saying that lcd is a more evolved version of the chems... but that really cant be taken for anything as imo they're both completely different genres of music... lcd soundsystem is a kind of disco/indie-rock hybrid which so far sounds very very appealing to me...

far less polished and produced than the chems but comparisons dont really give much insight. i retract my statement; they're two very different artists with very different approaches to music.

Been listening to their new record lately and I don't find anything in common with the Chems. LCD seems to be attached to instruments and give them this "rock band" attitude and sound. Some of the tracks don't even have electronica elements in them.

top quality album but what can u expect from the DFA, i cant wait to see them live at Homelands, will probably be the best thing there imo.

i think my favourite songs are Disco Infiltrator and On Repeat.

It's a good tune in my opinion, but it's too long. Ironically, it has the Robot Rock syndrom : catchy but damn annoying after 1 min 30.

of course i've downloaded it, much like every other album i have in my 9gb collection. if i bought every album i currently own, id be broke!

although i must admit that 5-6 of the albums i have on itunes have actually been bought and imported, although that was years ago.

hooray for piracy - it always works
