Hello maelstrom! I hope you get to see the Chemicals next time around! I would imagine no more live sets from the Chemicals at least until they are on the road supporting their next record. I also imagine they will "road test" a few of their new tracks and dj here and there, much like they did before the release of Come With Us. Only thing I've heard about an upcoming dj set is [read article below]... but if you want to be the first with tour dates and stuff, sign up for the Astralwerks newsletter - they are good about keeping the masses informed.
This little bit is taken from the WMC thread in the Chemical Talk forum:
America?s largest dance music festival ?Ultra? has joined forces with the Miami Winter Music Conference to present the opening party of the WMC with a huge line-up of artists. The good news for all those attending the WMC is that if you are registered for the conference you will gain free entry into the ?Ultra Music Festival?.
The full line-up has now being announced and in terms of talent will surely not be beaten in 2004. Over 40,000 people are expected to enjoy the 14 hours of non-stop party action across 11 stages and with many more DJ?s still to be announced the US$55 tickets look like a bargin.
2004 Ultra Festival Line-up
Chemical Brothers, Paul van Dyk, Paul Oakenfold, Tiesto, Sasha & John Digweed, Erick Morillo, Way Out West (live), Bad Boy Bill, RABBIT in the MOON (live), Richie Hawtin, Junkie XL (live), Ferry Corsten, Deepsky (live), Pete Tong, Junior Vazquez, Peter Rauhofer, Donald Glaude, Dimitri from Amsterdam, D:Fuse, Steve Lawler, Sander Kleinenberg, James Zabiela, Max Graham, Josh Wink, DJ Palash, Nick Warren, Infusion (live), Jimmy Van M, Chris Fortier, The Rapture (Live), LCD Soundsystem, 2 Many Djs, Keoki, Sandra Collins, DJ Hell, Johan Gielen, Jerry Bonham, Luke Fair, Lemon 8, Adam Freeland, Uberzone (live), Rick West, Sensei (live), DJ Icey, Baby Anne, Jekyll & Hyde (live), Storm, Simply Jeff, Goldie, DJ Craze
This line-up contains so much variation, so many great DJ?s it will be a great start to the 2004 Miami Winter Music Conference. Although one wonders with the many sore heads after this party how much work will actually get done.

According to gossip on the web:
Quote:
The chemical brothers will play (a live show) on the Pukkelpop musicfestival in Belgium.
The new album should be out by then.
Because this festival is at the end of August.
More interesting perhaps for the chemheads around Europe.
In the week of the pukkelpop festival, there are several other big festivals around Europe.
So they maybe could also play there.
(Lowlands-festival Holland for Joslyn and a bit for myself)
(Bizarre festival Germany for C-row)
(Reading festival UK for the uk-heads)

I totally understand the Bros giving Europe and their homeland lots of love. Home comes first.
Doesn't mean I'm perfectly 100% OK with it, but I'll live. ;)
And how bout Asia? Poor anType's been waiting and waiting to see them!

i must admit i was suprised with how little touring they did to promote come with us. all there previous tours have been far more comprehensive. also i did think that the tour was not that radically different to the surrender tour.
i don't know if there perception on touring has changed. it must be very exciting as a new band to explore the world on the road, but after promoting a few albums and travelling round the world a few times the buzz of touring might not be the same. plus the boys have both got married, and tom has a kid. you got to respect the fact that they have families to consider. it would be unfair for any fan to expect them to be on the road for 18 months. there happiness is the most important thing, it will translate through there music.
i hope any tour they do for chemical 5 will be radically reworked. i hope they do a more extensive tour of north and south america cos i think you guys missed out last time. i hope the tour will not be a labour for the boys. i know they love playing live, but one of the biggest things that ends a band carear is the stress of touring.
and most importantly i hope they play live at this years homelands (if its going ahead??). it would be a nice to celebrate 5 years since there last triumphant live performance there.

DAMN!!! I was planning on going to Werchter, Belgium or Roskilde, Denmark this year. Oh what to do??
But if the really are coming to Pukkelpop the change is REAL high they will be playing Lowlands. All big acts are usually playing at both festivals. Prodigy did that as well 3 years ago. Where did you get that info Gundhi?

^ Yes, I agree with both you and sneakerbeater on this. I think it takes a special, certain kind of person that can acclimate to a life of living out of suitcases. Not everyone can emotionally live their lives that way... I imagine it would be hard, especially at first while getting used to the arrangement. And for the ones guarding the homefront - Lonely houses and cold beds aren't much fun!
