yeah, "work in progress" , definately. And it does come out on 12" only for a reason. i'd like any EBW better than some of the crap 8 minutes four on the floor house tunes that you hear in clubs...

well i doubt is work in progress coz they already realesed ebw6 and ebw7 as a finished b sides.

I smell a language barrier. ;)

I was referring to the EBW's as "works in progress" in the past tense - as they were precursors to the final cuts that made the record (or in the case of EBW7, b-side)
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle

Best example of the 'work in progress' theory for me is EBW3, definately an unfinished version but still love it 8).

EBW3 and 5 are the only ones you can't find on cd, no1 is slightly different to album version but imo the album version is better anyway. Still trying to find no 5...

I have an mp3 of 5, but I've never ripped it myself.

Earlier in the thread someone said something about "works in progress" ... the EBW series initially (and basically still is) is for the duo to have "pieces" to use in their djing sets. And to hand out to other dj's to get the sounds played... see how the beats work with the crowd... basically see the reaction. EBW5 was a good example of how a crowd response can make or break it. It was huge in the clubs.. and Radio 1 started playing the EBW version until the single came out.

they've never actually changed anything in any of the EBW.

apart from under the influence!!! its quite different to the album version. infact i would say it was halfway between the album version and mix 2. it's just lacks a little of the progression to the final version. they certainly made the album version more lively!!
I'm a fuckin doughnut

Have to agree with you there sneaker, the EBW version is awesome but its not the finished article like the album version.

I personally think mix 2 is average, it changes too often for me :-|, then again I haven't listened to it for a while...

See, I found Mix 2 much more interesting. But then, I thought that the album version didn't play around with the sound enough...

I would compare it to.... listening to It Doesn't Matter on the album, then listening to the chems play it live. WAY different.
