I was wondering the same thing... I hope we'll have a real first part, not just James Holroyd warming up.

Another question...

I went to chemical brothers live for 3 times...

And everytime is the same question...

Do I have to go near the Chems to dance with other people or do i have to stay far from them to really see the lights and show ?

It's so hard to chose and all the time I finish to dance because it's look like more existing...

But after, when I saw video from live I think that it will be better to stay in background...

Sorry for my poor english but i'm sure that you understand what I mean ! :)

Just back from the gig ! Wonderful moment, as usual.

Brand new tracks really smashing to hear live (We are the night, Saturate and even Das Spiegel).

A bit disappointed by Burst Generator though.

New setlist with Galvanize at the beginning and The Sunshine Underground at the end.

New visuals, much more simple.

This time, I decided to enjoy the show so I went upstairs. That's the perfect place to see everything though the sound was a bit ... saturate :)

Finally, I'm happy : I've got a bunch of terrible videos and crap photos to upload on YouTube, shot with my cell phone. You can't even guess it's the Chemical Brothers ! LOL !

Anyway, I was impressed to see all this mobile phones and all this cameras shooting at concert so ... I guess you'll be able to find good quality pics and movies.

By the way during the long first part (not so long as the one in 2005... wbtw as it DJ Elroy again ?!), we heard a remixed Salmon Dance ! ;)

You can be sure I'll go back in november !

Back too ! I'm eating my Quick Long Bacon and drinking my Sprite. The first time I eat since breakfast ! That feels so good...

So I went to the venue : I didn't took the right metro line and had to walk for 15mn to get to the entrance. Not a problem since there was only 5 people waiting when I arrived (2 years ago, at that time there was maybe 50 !) an hour or so after that, they open the doors, I run to the front, and then see all the new stage, the new screen, etc. I have to say I thought all their stuff was much bigger than that. There are less gear than usual. Whatever it's still cool ! And there's a PolyEvolver on the right rack, that's new :)

James Holroyd DJd for an hour or so, played a remix of Salmon Dance (I didn't like it that much...) and then lights off, everybody screaming, "There's no path to follow"... but I could barely hear it, the sound was very low during all the set. That disapointed me a lot !

Anyway you know what they do, Galvanize started, the crowd went nuts, Ed danced gracefully, halfway between Elvis Presley and Mr Bean, Tom shouted at the MPC, both waved at the audience.

The Audience ! let's talk about that. Maybe it was because of the sound, too low, but I thought the parisians were a bit tired. When the music was calm, they were calm, no screaming... But we clapped our hands in rhythm, that's cool...

Good :

Do it again (good on CD, amazing live !)

It doesn't Matter/Under the Influence (with the EBW6 siren !)

Star Guitar (surprisingly, because I'm not a big fan)

Saturate

Believe

We are the night (whoaaaaa)

Chemical Beats

Das Spiegel (I didn't like it on the album, but I loved hearing it live)

The Sunshine Underground (the buit up at the beginning was awesome, so was the break. Best time of my life !)

Tom making love with the Octave Kitten at the end (I have a video of that, he seemed to enjoy it, and so did we !)

Bad :

Galvanize (bad track as a starter... bring us Come with us back !)

Out of Control/Don't fight feel it (sorry, I still don't like it at all...)

Golden Path (wtf did the keep that ? bo-ring)

Overall, I loved it ! but really disapointed with the sound, even if it was good, it wasn't loud enough.

Apparently, Tom and Ed don't think like me :D

"Wow!what an amazing crowd...thanks to the people of paris!T E x"

Thanks to you Tom and Ed ! But when you come back in november, pleas turn the sound level up a little please !

Edit : HERE ARE MY VIDEOS !

a lot of it is crap, really (I took it with my cell phone, but a few one have a decent sound (for example the final with Tom playing with the Kitten !!!)

Back from my first Chemical Brothers concert !

The show started at 21h30 and finished around 23h10.

I agree with Ben_j the crowd was too quiet especially where I was (behind the sound engineer's board). I am going to disagree with one point of Ben_j's review : the sound was loud enough. The sound level was displayed on the sound enginneer's board, it was around 105 dB with peaks above 120 dB.

As far as the music is concerned, the first part (before the "rappel") was good but I expected better. The audience didn't react enough, this is due to the fact that some tracks are too recent (i.e. Burst Generator). But after the "rappel", OMG, it saved the show : We are the night, Chemical Beats, Das Spiegel, The Sunshine Underground ! Another bad point is the visual : a giant screen behind the Brothers and two lasers may not be sufficient.

To sum up, it was good but I'm a bit disappointed . Next time, I will stand in front of the scene instead of having a seat, it should be better.

Anyone recorded something ? Audio/video ?
