Shit, if all the games were priced $20-$30, I wouldn't buy another game on disk ever. I like not having to get off the couch (away from my bong) to change the disks.

it only arrived in the post today and only played an hour, but fuck me its a beautiful game. it bends fallout 3 over and fucks its ass with out even considering giving it a reach around!

I was worried about CoD5, since it was made by the idiots who did CoD3, worst in the series. They did themselves proud on the single play, got Keifer Sutherland and Gary Oldman for voice talent, and the MP is as deep and persistent than CoD4, with the inclusion of a flame thrower if you make it to level 65 (i'm stuck on 27).

BEST thing in the game, seriously, worth the $60, is the co-op zombie mode. for no reason whatsoever, you're trapped in a building besieged by zombies. you can do it co-op online, or split screen. The zombies come in waves, starting out with the Night of the Living Dead shuffling kind, then speeding up to 28 days later speed. It's intense, and more fun than any other part of the game. Really, it's like Space Invaders, they just keep coming, your only goal is to take as many as you can with you, but it has genuine 'OH SHIT' moments, when you realize you're just surrounded, and have no time to reload your shotgun.

I love zombie/enemy swarming scenes in video games. Probably the only time where I actually care and fear for the protagonist's life. :lol: One of the better ones I can remember is from Half Life 2 (either episode 1 or 2 i think, cant remember....) with the elevator scene. You have to search in the dark for the power switch, meanwhile, the suicide zombie bombers, poison spider chuckers, and creepy wall climbing werewolf things all go after you at once.

So Valve did it again. Left 4 Dead is soooooooooooo fuckin fun. Me and my brother have spent so many hours on that game already its not even funny. I'm not typically an online gamer, but I'm encouraged to get my xbox live going with this game.

Also, got Fifa 09 which is probably the best sport game I've ever played. Easy Controls, tough competition. Fantastic visually.

My brother got Dead Space and from what I've watched it looks like another great creepy game. Looks great too ( I suppose thats easy to keep saying with a new TV :P)

I'm getting a bit out of touch with the gaming world. I really want to play Left 4 Dead and Dead Space but my PC is over 5 years old now and it's getting to the point where I know that any new games I put on it won't quite play as they are supposed to. :-(

Valve is awesome. I'm still waiting for HL2: Episode 3. Fucking cliffhanger at the end of the last one, man!

Funny you ask, i'm actually downloading L4D from the torrents because I got a new laptop for Xmas and runs pretty much the games that are out right now (COD, Farcry 2, etc!) My other PC is about the same age as yours, so it can't run todays gaming apps these days. I got a Pentium Dual core 2 with 4GB of ram and a Nvidia 9800 on Asus MB on the laptop. Those guidlines should be ok for you.

I know that Dead Space has that scared-as-shit horror sound so I'll get that next.

Yeah, your going to need to have a pretty good video card and some extra ram to play Left 4 Dead. Considering all the hoards of zombies that come rushing at you, you don't want your pc to get slow or freeze on you.

Just a heads up to you guys Left 4 Dead isn't much of a single player mode. It's all about team survival (online/multiplayer).

That's why I got the PS3, I got sick of spending $600-$1000 a year upgrading my PC.

Went retro for the last couple of days and finally conquered Castlevania!

Street Fighter 4 out tomorrow. I dont know how I'm gonna make myself wait, but I'm gonna wait to buy the game until I can afford get a fighting control stick with the game.

Other then that, I can't stop playing Left 4 Dead. It's the best multiplayer game I've played since N64 age with Golden Eye.

It's coming out for the PC as well, which is a bit odd cos if anything's a console game, it's Street Fighter. I'm looking forward to its release :D means I'll be round a mates on his xbox with some beers

N64 is THE console game ! I do have only it and I can tell you tat no modern material's worth Super Mario 64 or Zelda Oocarina of Time ! A legend...

But Duke Nukem 64 was a mess I think...a legendar FPS on a legendar console but a bad game : less gore, no naked women, no sex, no "shit down your neck"...the PC version is better !

Old games like these would, for sure, make you happier than could new ones ! Duke Nukem Forever !

I Miss my Dreamcast! N64 is the only system I never owned!

Been playing Bioshock lately. I love it for three reasons:

1. You actually start to feel your sanity slip a bit.

2. It makes a daring leap for a certain tone and style, grabs it, and scores.

3. You are given a moral choice, and it moves you to choose either way.
