Unique song. A little bit Keep My Composure meets The Devil Is In The Details. Don't really like it, but I like what Tempah had to say about the collab:

Quote

Among the production talent on Demonstration is Tom Rowlands of The Chemical Brothers.

It's an unlikely collaboration on the surface, although Tinie, who turns 25 the same week the album is released, doesn't see it like that.

"I suppose it's not the first person you'd think I'd work with, but I knew Tom would bring an edge to my music that hasn't been there before," he explains.

"Musically, The Chemical Brothers have never conformed, and have always brought out fresh sounds and experimented with new styles of music. I feel that's the artist I am and what I want to do."

It started out grabbing your attention but kinda lost me towards the middle. I think it might've been how he was rhyming over the top of it. Its good Tom is branching out like this a bit. Experimenting on others letting it all out see what works so comes back and help makes another good chems record with Ed.
Come out from the cold and into the setting sun. It's where it all began for me (not in Afrika), like it was out of control. Then after that life was sweet. So dream on into the pioneer skies of the fourteenth century and rise from the sunshine underground.

Not bad. I like the energy. Was that the full track?

The song is an interesting sampling of Tom's productive handiwork. I don't think that was the whole thing, was it? If not, I'd like to hear more before I give a definitive yay or nay.

I'm not sure what to make of it yet, haha! My initial thought is it strays from my aural comfort zone, as this is not something I would normally listen to.

That said, it pleases me that Tom is putting himself out there and collaborating in ways we don't expect. There is a certain risk in doing that, and I find it admirable. These risks are part of what makes each Chems album different and intriguing to my ear.

That's what I was thinking! I quickly thought of Orange Wedge too as well. Intro sample pretty much sucked me . Even though rap has taken a backseat to pretty much what listen to today, I love Tom's stamp on this track. So far I give it a 7.5 out of 10 since it's a sample.

Just a sample. The original track in it's entirety got taken down.

These Chems have balls! I like how Tom is giving us these little bread crumbs of his talents until he give us the whole loaf.

If you listen to songs like Not Another Drugstore, Get Yourself High, Galvanize or Keep My Composure then i don't think this collab is so much unexpected. Of course, no one here expected a song by Tinie Tempah being produced by Tom - but on the other hand i think Daybreaker (Beth Orton) is way more unexpected.

I approve.
He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

Interesting, not exactly grabbing me after a few listens. I like the sample at the beginning.

The more interesting point to me is that I think that this is the film shoot that a coworker of mine was a dancer for. She is a professional dancer and did filming for a Tinie Tempah shoot back in the summer. I think she is the blonde but I'm trying to confirm with her now.

I'm actually liking it much more the second time around and giving it a full listen.

The shifts from that old-timey quiet Western-ish sample to the heavy driving beats are deftly quick yet seamless.

Think I am the happiest one here .. I like Tinie Tempah and this is a great surprise Tom producing this. Singing is typical TT, and all that chemical magic on top. That sound at 2 mins!!
Singing reminds if Tinie's Frisky.

Happy about this.

and i've never liked rap before. because of the very generic music. this record is pretty much electronica with tinie's rapping and all the collabs.
i've played Looking Down the Barrel at least 50 times since last time. I love you Tom! That sound release at 2 mins..
