Anyone else into this? They just released a new album called 'Odditorium or Warlords Of Mars'. It's pretty cool. It's got that special Dandy sound. Also going to one of their concerts in october.

I never got into these guys but I work with a couple of people who are into 'em - I liked what I've heard of the Dandy Warhols so far, I'll be sure and check the new album when I get a chance.

'Thirteen Tales..' was a GREAT album, but I wasn't impressed my 'Welcome..." to say the least. But I heard this album was a comeback to their earlier sound, so I'll check it out too.

LOL, Pitchforkmedia just gave their new cd a 1,2 rating!

Idiots. They wouldn't know good music if it kicked their ass.

I just got the promo of their new one today.

So far, so good. I'm not done listening to the album in full - but I'm enjoying it so far.

And of course Pitchforkmedia gave it a low rating. Because remember, if it's even remotely well known in even the tiniest ripples outside the "uber-hip-unwashed-chic-cool-kids-who-only-listen-to-obscure-underground-shit" circle, then it's gotta suck. Pardon me, but the people behind pitchforkmedia are mostly a bunch of pretensious assholes imho.

I love Pitchfork. Those guys make me laugh, even if I rarely ever agree with them.

After all, they did review Kylie's "Fever" album as an April Fools joke. And gave it a good rating. :D

And they've turned me onto many a good artist or album. But, yeah, they are arrogant pricks. And revel in that fact.

OK.

I've listened to this album a total of 3 times since yesterday, not counting the random playlist at work. That usually means something in my book.

I'm really digging on this album, a LOT.

I haven't familiarized myself with the song titles yet, but so far from start to finish I'm liking this album. There's some good grooves going on, and there's even some weird breakdown outtros in a few songs (namely the 2nd track after the mock radio broadcast intro) that reminds me sort of like jangling instrumental outtros of Spiritualized - but I haven't been analytical enough to put my finger on exactly how and why.

I'll be giving this a few more spins, definitely. A very good release.

at least 1 track sounds like it could have been lifted straight from a Phish album.

track 12 sounds like vintage 1988 Psychic TV, right down to the guys voice on that track.

weird album, I kinda like it.
