I can't with these crowds anymore. I can't, I can't.

There is a new generation out there who only listen to dub step and awful house music like 'Swedish house mafia'. They're always excepting a trashy loud build up and drop. No journey.

I'm not surprised though. I sat in rage listening to Knife Party whilst everyone around me went completely nuts. They probably thought the Chems would be the same. Oh, what, they're not? NO THAT CAN'T BE, DOOOODE. WE NEED TO BE TRASHY, LIKE ALL DAY AND ALL NIGHT. HOW CAN I POUT IN MY PHOTOZ WITH THESE NON TRASHY CHOONZ, BRO? LETS ALL VENT LATERZ IN INCOHERENT MESSAGES, LIKE A BUNCH OF ARSEHOLES ON THEIR FACEBOOK PAGE, THAT WILL MAKE ME FEEL MUCH BETTER, 'COS I'M A SICK C**T! yeah...

Oh horrible, horrible, Knife Party, I cry into my 'Hold your Colour' CD (maybe listen to your own advice). How pathetic I am.

Anyway, I had an awesome end to a terrible day, so it was all worth it. I've finally seen the light too, no more festivals. I can do gigs, but no more trashy crowds. It's disgusting....and vile.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, MY FAVOURITE PEOPLE! Love!
its a little early but thanks anyway

This forced me to do some google bing - and yes, Knife Party are 2/3 of Pendulum. Now i understand why all of you are so mad/worried about Knife Party (never heard of them before this thread) - Pendulum only released two good songs (Vault & Back To You), and that was before Hold Your Color.

I feel your pain Krystal, I think the Shore Thing crowd at Bondi would have been worse than SummaDayze too. The Chems made it all worthwhile though.

They just released the set times for the One Night Only show on Friday, Midnight till 3am, I can handle that :)

MAIN ROOM 21.00 – 22.30 Gabby

22.30 – 23.30 BOOKA SHADE live

23.30 – 00.00 Club Junque

00.00 – 03.00 THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS [3HR DJ Set]

03.00 – 04.00 CARL CRAIG 69 LIVE

04.00 – Close Mia Lucci

Further Remixed There's nothing else...

My thoughts exactly. It's so depressing knowing that most of the punters out there are only interested in hearing music that makes me want to cry eg. Knife Party. And what i think is even worse is not only are these people narrow minded but they are arrogant enough to think the world wants to hear about their opinions.

At least the line up for One Night Only (which is great btw) should keep most of the teeny boppers away.

Yay, Krystal is here!! Another voice of sanity amongst the knife party surge of Facebook negativity.

The Chems make any outing worthwhile, but I hear and feel your pain on the festival front. There comes a time when it's OK to take a breather from the crowd, the scene, the partying, the empty pockets and everything else that is associated with mass gatherings of musically interested folk. ;)

Saw Knife Party at boonstock last summer... Yah I had the same experience as Krystal. Mostly dbags who were in trashy form. When crystal method came on after the tent died at certain points. When CM built up from two fingers to a proper drum and bass track most if the crowd just stopped. I found it hilarious as it showed that these brostep rave kids can't even appreciate the step before their beloved 'dub'. My view is that Brostep transformed more out of metal rap than it did out of any other electronic style.

Glad to hear that our crew had a good time once t and e came on and the trash started hating.

Random trash bag: 'I LOVE Knife Party! They're friggen sick'!

Me: *cringes* 'Okay.'

Random trash bag: 'I love everything they've done!'

Me: 'Oh, so you're a Pendulum fan as well?'

Random trash bag: 'Who the f**k are Pendulum?'

Me: *mass pace palm* 'Urgh.'

EVERY BLOODY TIME!

Sorry to turn this into a Knife Party frustration thread, I'm just completely infuriated.

I just need to the C the H the E the M the I the C the A the L the BROTHERS!

Haterz gonna hate, yo.

Haha .... I just remembered, I had one of those start shouting in my ear about 15 minutes before the Chems were gonna finish .... something like "Have you heard of &*%#$" I look at him and go "huh?" and he then says "do you like good music?" I realise at this point that he his trying to promote some club ... couldn't believe my ears, dancing to the Chems and he asks me if I like good music, I just turned my back on him and continued to dance. Some people haven't got a clue.

Fuck I am loving the shit out of those new tunes they are dropping. it makes me excited for a new album.

Just hearing those new tunes and how quite different to each other they are yet you know its all chemical. It just shows how talented and open minded our boys are when it comes to possibilities of music.

Yes Krystal, it also means we are getting old perhaps but I tend to refuse to believe that to be honest. We just have a broader palette in music then those poor kids on ADD that dont know any better. This was why I was dying to see them at a side gig than a festival. It just reminds of the recent DJ Shadow incident aswell. These promoters just dont seem to understand there audience or the artists properly sometimes. Of course having Knife party before bloody chemical brothers is going to be an issue. They should of played on seperate stages with similar music genres or have someone more appropriate beforehand.

Krisper: It sounds like you were at war at that gig ha ha. Ugh, it reminds me when I used to do it all the time when I was in high school. I hope your other half was OK.

Enjoy tonight. You might like Carl Craig too. Ive seen him once before live but that was a while ago.

....Also as those videos were from Melbourne. This particular venue that most every festivals use, has seating up to the front of the stage, which makes it impossible to dance and enjoy yourself at a type of festival like this unless you want to stand on the seats and fall and break something.

Have they added new percussion to the pleasure song or have I not heard the complete track? (notably in the build up and other areas) took it to another level. (The version Errol played didnt have this unless he didnt play the whole song to the end)

I can't say Friday night was a dream come true .. cause never in my wildest dreams did I every think I'd see the Chems doing a 3 hour DJ set in a nightclub in Sydney. Beyond my wildest dreams, what a night, one Glenda and I will never forget.

A nice venue, a really great crowd of people, top atmosphere, everyone having a great time. We still hadn't fully recovered from NYE and the night after, so we thought we might just hang back a bit and enjoy it from another perspective, but we couldn't. Straight to the barricade. Booka Shade were pretty cool, but when the Brothers came on, they were in their element and you could see it.

Loving their new stuff. The C the H the E the M the I the C the A the L the Brothers is friggin awesome, and the pleasure track, love that too. Not sure if they have added new percussion, but it is epic as it is. They've either dropped the vocals from it, or I am just deaf, but I didn't hear any vocals samples. Woke up this morning with it running in my head. Some time in the last hour they dropped a track I'd never heard before, definitely Chemical, a touch of the Velodrome sounds in it, but perfect for a club scene. Can't describe it more than that, loved it. So good to see their newer stuff gets received as well as their classics. Don't Think had the place going wild, Horse Power ... Swoon gets better and better every time. Saturate went down beautifully, everyone in the place singing out to it. It Doesn't Matter .. unreal. And they finished with Star Guitar.

And then to top the night off, I was still staring at the stage, next thing I look and here is Ed right at the Barrier thanking Glenda and I, wishing us a Happy New Year, Glenda gives him a kiss and I shake his hand. It was so surreal, I was star struck. Such a wonderful gesture from Ed, we were the luckiest people in the place.

We didn't stay for Carl Craig, had to drive an hour and a half home and we had something on last night so we needed to get some sleep before going out again.

So I could say my life is complete now, but fuck that, I want more! Still glowing. A big thank you to Tom and Ed for giving us the night of the century! And a special thanks to Ed for coming over and saying hello to the crazy old couple at the front. We will never forget that moment. If only I could have thought of something intelligent to say :)
