Hold Tight London... *sigh* One of the most beautiful, original things I've ever heard. This song is very personal for me... There are so many parts to it that are beautiful and so well crafted. I love how the voice is tweaked just enough so it slips and slides between the all the other textures going on.

The only reason i can see someone ever, ever watching this film is to hear that sound i was on a bout. Then, and only then should you watch it, under the conditions that you cover your TV completely with dirty socks, stuff as many marshmellows as you can , poke a badger with a wooden spoon and skip forward a good hour of absolute shite, then turn it off as soon as you have heard the bit i am on about. Or alternatively, just take my word for it !!!!
After this make sure you burn your TV in a furnace, or if you have access... a Vulcano. Then hiss at the person you borrowed the DVD of titanic off.
It might then be worth while to exchange your DVD player to some Pickie for some magic dust in hope that your DVD will provoke some kind of curse on that Pickie. Lets face it, he shouldn't have been in the bottom of you garden in the first place. Go find his own garden, Tramp

But there are so many others, especially smart parts and things you get aware of not before listening twice or when listeing through headphones. Tiny little things that become bigger and bigger the often you listen to, you know what i mean?

I remeber listening to the preview of this song before the CWU was released and thinking how strange this song is, as i didn't really like it at first.
But now its become one of the classic Chems tracks, with probably the most emotional energy out of them all.
I also think that some of the songs from 'Dig Your Own Hole' album went a little bit unappreciated - yes we all know the Block Rockin' Beats, Setting Sun, Elektrobank, TPPR - but i really think there's this hidden magic in songs like Piku (i explained it before), Lost in K-hole (this is such a beautiful, trippy track with that revearsed lyric and wierd percussion) and Where Do I Begin (how powerful is it when the lyrics start to repeat before that first massive drum breakdown- its orgasmic)
I whish they did these songs live (yes I know about the piku playground, but that sounded more like messing around with mixer and drum machine - and they didn't include that beautiful sound I mentioned before)

oh, and the EBW 6 beam ! Especially during live sets, that's mindblowing...
Even though the Synth spotting thread is long dead, that noise is 90% likly a Korg Mono/poly. It's really good at making noises like that because you can layer 4 separate sounds in the machine and if you off tune them from each other it gives it that errie sounds. It's haunting I love it..

It is interesting to see how many people enjoy the weird sounds in Test.

Yes, you're right! Lost in the K-Hole is so fucking great. Kind of "post-electro-psychedelic-funk". That bassline and these bells are awesome and the whole vibe that comes while listening. Just amazing!!!
And Where Do I Begin? always makes me happy. Such a nice build-up. Starts quite with a touch of melancholy and then gradually turnes into a climax that really rock. I think it's a great tune for movies (trailers, final credits) as has been heard in Vanilla Sky Soundtrack. For some weeks now one of our tv channels has been advertising for a tv-movie series with some bits of WDIB?... Great choice in my eyes!!!

Hold tight London: Love the part after the first chorus and it builds up again (the bit with the chimes in different ears) and the lyrics. Such a beautiful song.
Galaxy bounce: Another funky guitar bit , the one about 2:30 in, probably best heard on the extended version.
It doesn't matter: After the big bleepy build-up around 2/3 of the way along: love those 'slashing' sounds that go in each ear, some louder than the other, sometimes both at once with one ascending and one descending (or something like that!). maaaatttttterrrrrrrr

THis whole song is VERY special to me first of all. The way the very layered , light beautifull sounds work with that pounding heavy beat is just incredible!
Okay now i'm gonna have a hard time trying to tell you guys wich sound i mean.
Around1.10 you can already hear it coming up. it gets louder......And at 1.30 when the beat comes in this sound is fully developed.
Tuunuu nuunuu tuunuu nuunuu tuunuu nuunuu tuunuu nuunuu nuuuuuuuuuu !! That sound is so fucking beautifull. I want to make love to that sound hahaha !!( And yes Mike, the vocals are amazing too ! Those people on the little station can sing so well !!! ;) )
yes! thats it! that build up gets me every time! :D

And here I thought I was the only one! Awesome solo, it gives me goosebumps everytime!
This could just be me, but don't you think the guitar sounds really really cockney? Like the guitar itself has a cockney accent....

Another part of a song I really love. It's mental. It's this lingering bit that starts slowly fading in about 3:10 it sounds like it could be u.f.o sound effects for a sci-fi flick. It's so ominous and fucked up weird, and it just keeps getting more and more intense until you could swear there's a space ship hovering above you. Then it sounds like there's a sort of doppler effect and the sound lifts off and 'flies' away. OK - it's really hard to describe but I know Jeanie knows what I'm talking about. ;)
Yep, that's a pretty amazing part of that track. In fact, that whole track is one of my favourites from DYOH. It's completely out of this dimension, but there's still fragments of reality in it.
Anyway, another beautiful moment - Chico's Groove, about 1:50 in when the bassline changes and the vocal goes "well gee, I just don't know what to do", gives me goosebumps when I hear it.
In Surrender, the sound that wooshes past every 8 bars - I used to listen to that track purely for that sound.
In It Doesn't Matter, that fucking massive sound right at the end after the bass drum bottoms out. I love that sound }:-)
