Has anyone else noticed the extorinate price this is being retailed for, at my local independent the price is £19.99 and at HMV online and amazon an even bigger whopping price of £23.99

As someone who has got all the previous albums on vinyl this price has got me going. According to the record shop it is of course the record company who set the price so I think they are ripping us off. Compare it to the price of recent vinyl albums from JUSTICE or the Kitsune compilations around the £13 mark and you will see what I mean

How on earth can this be justfied - a total rip imho

Sorry mate, but I think it's a sure sign that vinyl is dying. With the popularity of the CDJ, they can't even count on DJs to buy vinyl now.

Not saying they'll stop it completely, I don't think that'll ever happen, but it's going to diminish in popularity, driven by the price mainly. Eventually, it'll probably only be available from specialist shops and websites

fast becoming a luxury item sadly. shame because the artwork looks ace on the vinyl...

phonica's mailout says EMI are charging are a fortune for the vinyl LP. seeing as everybody has it at around the same price it's obviously true.

would point out that picadilly records have got the CD for 8.99 for a limited time. great shop too..

Cool, didn't know Piccadilly Records had a website!

Yeah I saw the LP in HMV for £23.00 as well, seems pretty steep.

This isn't a case of vinyl dying, but a case of sheer greed on the part of EMI and apparent indifference on the part of the group, who are seeing their fans ripped off in this way. Price LP's this way and it is a self-fufilling prophecy

Dance music is about vinyl really.

Piccadilly is my local shop and they are disgusted at the price set by the record company

Piccadilly Records is awesome, well worth the trip over from Leeds (and Vinyl Exchange of course).

I meant I think this is the record companies trying to push vinyl into the closet. If you want to kill demand, you raise the price - simple economics

What i would like is someone connected to the band to come on here and explain why the loyal fans are being ripped off in such a way

A possibility... (more simple economics) .... if they press a limited number, each one is worth more. So you aren't just trying to price it higher to get more money, it's actually WORTH more because of what? ... wait for it..... supply/demand.
