I got hit by a car on my bike on thursday, and luckily escaped with only about 20 scrapes (i just barely missed being hit by a truck, probably the luck of my chems t-shirt i was wearing when it happened), i still had to go to the hospital though and got stuck with a fucking iv for like 3 hours (*looks at vein, shudders*). I was crossing when i shouldnt have been, so im at fault, but hopefully i wont get a ticket.

8O Well, even if you do get a ticket, it's sure a hell of a lot better than being laid up in the hospital with all sorts of injuries.

Glad to hear you're OK and only have a few scrapes. Keep wearing that Chems shirt!

Oh, and be careful next time!!!

Sucks that 'stash is gone now Whirly. Any word on if he can scam a rental car to come up here with?

Naw, I think he's trapped in St. Paul, and scamming a car from relatives is out of the question ('stash loathes the relatives that have a car, and they live a little far from St. Paul and probably won't make the effort to see him anyway.)

I think there's about 5 or 6 people all together who've travelled to Minnesota for this special training that 'stash is doing - there's one rental car between them, and that's to take everyone to and from the hotel to work. What's odd is they gave the rental car to some guy who's come in from London, some guy who's never been to St. Paul before (and who isn't familiar with driving on the other side of the road!). Can't say 'stash was too happy about being car-less!

'stash should bring the whole group up here! Granted I can only provide him with accomodations and entertainment, but hey, why not? :D

It would've been awesome if he could've made it up here, but looks like it wasn't meant to be.

Believe me, he really wanted to make a trip to Winnipeg!

'stash is quite the ring leader when it comes to social planning. But I don't think the other people on this trip are... well, they're nice people n'all but they're not the types who'd be up to doing... a lot of no good! ;) He's holding out hope that the Londoner is cool!

He can just tell them that Canada is a friendly and polite place where everyone abides by the law and certainly there are no problems with illegal substances!

And he can also sell them on the fact that they can tell their friends that they know what it's like to ride a moon buggy, as Manitoba roads are more cratered and uneven than any extraterrestrial landscape! :D

I have a feeling if 'stash embarked on a road trip with his coworkers, all hope of ever seeing him again would be lost. X-D

Although the moon buggy experience sounds pretty cool!

I fear for his life when he's out and about without me to mind him. ;)

Who knows, maybe something cool will come up. He's brought a laptop with him and he has internet access, no doubt he'll be on here. Maybe the thought of moon buggying around Manitoba will be enticing enough for him to convince his coworkers that it's a good idea they get up to no good in Canada!

got back from the glade festival yesterday, it was pretty amazing and had a top class line up - saw the bays, layo & bushwaka dj (AWESOME set!!), luke vibert, carl craig, soul mekanik, ralph myerz & the jack herren band (if u get a chance to see this band live DO IT!! - they are totally unique and supremely entertaing) and plastikman doing his live thing. top quality festival 8)

looking onto the main site:

chilling with hippies:

the site was wickedly decorated, loads of big flags everywhere!

back to the huumdrum of work now :( boo!

chin up whirly, whens stash due back???

Ooo, that Glade Fest looks very pleasant, with chillin hippes n'all, looks like my kind of place!

Anyway - you people across the pond have it good with all these lovely festivals!

'stash is due back on August 5. He's bonding with the two Londoners on the trip but everyone he's surrounded by is a lot older.

I don't want to jinx anything, but I have a job interview tomorrow. It's for the same visual merchandising position (different location though) I turned down almost 2 years ago when I decided to go back to Tower. You know what they say about lightning striking the same spot twice - god I hope I get this job...

Jeanie!!! We've all missed you so much! This place isn't quite the same without you. So glad to hear you've been having a good time. And congrats on the house - how friggen cool is that?! I can see it now, it's gonna be party central - dub that place "Fuckin Jeanie's House!!!"Can't wait until you have more time to talk. It seems like you have little adventures everywhere you go!

mippio - the interview went really well, it was very relaxed and I felt quite comfortable. The woman who interviewed me was very cool and we got along immediately. I was in there for a little over an hour. But the thing is she had a few more interviews to do through this coming week so I won't even hear an answer til after that. I did do the proper thing and send off a nice little thank you note the next morning. Now all I have to do is keep my fingers crossed. If it doesn't work it's back to the drawing board!
