So, I arrived in a hangar where we were put some clown make-up. We then had to go to a place near the bridge, wait in a queue for wristbands, and in another queue for white adidas jackets. So we were dressed like the guy in the Galvanize video.
Then we enter into the venue : white rabbit studios at the arches.
James Holroyd is DJing. I'm not sure it's him cause he was dressed like us but the music sounded a lot like his slow-mo style, and he played some tracks we heard in Paris last year (Mr Oizo's Cut Dick) in the set he did after the screening.
There was a guy playing snack busking : we could get some pop-corns or ice cream for free if we beat him at rock-paper-scisors. He posted some pics on his twitter :

James Holroyd then made a special chemical mix, still in his usual slow style :
Scale
Seal
Hanna's Theme
Lost In The K-Hole
One Too Many Mornings
If You Kling To Me I'll Klong To You
Dream On
Interrogation/Lonesome Subway
Spring
The Pills Won't Help You Now
Asleep From Day
Close Your Eyes
Harpoons
Where Do I Begin (so frustrating that there was no reel after that !)
The were some visuals during this set, some were from Further, some were from the live shows, but nothing new I think.
And then a guy dressed as acid father took a mike and said "Hahaha (evil laugh), come with us and leave your world behind, ladies and gentlemen, don't think !" and the screening comes. Didn't watch the time at that moment but I think it was around ten o'clock.
No 3D. There was a huge screen divided in three parts showing visuals for the show (not exactly the same though, there were some differences) and a smaller one showing the DVD, which was the one I wtached mostly (it was more interesting with the gear porn and the stargate). Some visuals were projected on the walls but there wasn't any on the floor :
The crowd was disappointing ! They didn't act like fans at a concert (well it was a screening, not a proper concert but we were in the same conditions, all standing, lights, sound and stuff), barely dancing, and were more occupied chatting, taking photos (probably to send them on instagram) and shaking their coktails. Did they think they were in a salon de thé or what ? Fortunately the BALLOONS ON SATURATE (fuck yeah) woke them up a little bit, but I had the impression I was the only fan there (I regretted not having taken my chemical t-shirt with me to London, I couldn't imagine I would have to wear it).
Where did they all come from anyway ? We sure weren't a thousand, but at least a few hundreds, and I can't believe they are all on the forum. Or if you are reading us please register and post, we would be pleased to have some new peeps here ! The Chems didn't even mention it on their facebook page or twitter account. So how did they get invited, how did they hear about the event ? A mystery.
Another question I can't seem to find the answer to is : why ? What was the point of all of this ? There were some guys takings photos or videos with professional material into the crowd, but I don't think (no pun intended) they intend to release a video of...well people watching a video ! (chemception ?)
No Tom or Ed obviously (to be honest I didn't even expect them to be there, plus they are currently in Ibiza, aren't they ?). BUT we had a guest star :
Yep, HE was there !
Crowd during Superflash :
And then it ends and as I mentioned before, JH does another set, still in his usual housey style. No bad music but it's not the kind of thing that gets me high. He kicked off with a slowed down version of Tour De France and also dropped Theme For Velodrome later in this set. He ended at half past one, but most of the people had already gone anyway.
I feel the post-chemical depression arising in me, but not because it was great, merely because too much expectations lead to even more disapointments. To me it was The Chemical Brothers without the chemical spirit, and afaik it wasn't even their initiative but something from adidas underground.
I wanted to listen to the Reel when I arrived back home but I was so unsatisfied that I couldn't take the risk of experiencing a bad trip.
