istanbul is the capital of turkey, and i think the only city in the world that is on 2 continets!! a suprising choice of place to play. when it comes to football matches the turks are a violent lot, not a place i would like to visit

Leeds United (premier league team who I don't support) played Galatasaray (team in Istanbul) a few years ago and two of their fans were stabbed to death before the game by Turkish fans.
