I noticed on the live coverage last night that someone had written (in HUGE letters) on the road:

GO

EVERYBODY

BUT

ARMSTRONG

I thought of this thread and couldn't stop laughing. X-D X-D X-D

Stash, what makes you an expert on the personal life of Lance Armstrong? How do you know why he left his wife? Moreover, why should his personal life be of any concern to anyone else but Lance Armstrong? The best question to ask is, why do some people hate success? Is it extreme jealously, or just plain hate? This man has been frequently tested for doping and no one found anything.

"GO

EVERYBODY

BUT

ARMSTRONG "

That is nothing more than a pathetic, whiney, sore loser comment. Armstrong works hard to be the best and continually is, people can't accept that, so they hate on him. If he was French, would he still get this treatment? I would love to know, but my hunch says he would be a global hero. But alas, he is nothing more than a doping, cheating, American, Who won the Tour de France 6 years in a row, but that doesn't matter right?

Listen, I'm an expert on his personal life because the media has foisted it upon me. I *don't* want to know ANYTHING about some dumb-fuck bicycle rider, but his constant self-aggrandizement has forced its way into my conciousness. Even if I never clicked on an internet news page, I'd still have to wonder what was up with all the girly yellow braclets.

I know the facts:

Fact: He was married and had 3 children with the woman who stood by him and helped him through his battle with cancer.

Fact: his wife stayed with him AFTER he had both his nuts cut off

Fact: as soon as he became really famous, he left that wife and started dating Cheryl Crow.

And yeah, it IS hate, it's hatred of a society that awards fame, riches and glory for nothing more than brute strength, while denigrating intelligence.

It's not jealousy though. How could anyone ever be jealous of a man with no balls? Frankly, I think that's why he does so well at the Tour de France, there's less between him and the bike than most other male riders.

hello everyone,

I will probably make a mess on explain my thought, cause my english is shite.

But i want anyway say something about Lance Arm.

Jut the other day i was talking about this with a friend of mine, and i SAID that i am not Jealous of him,at all, Iam not hate him, But i fucking hate all the journalist,or people who talk about him, that says: " ohh poor guy!... he even survived to a cancer, and now is a champion!! !!...what a enorm courage, strong power for life, what a megasuper lesson of life after such a pain .blabla... " . Fuck off!

Do they think that people with the same problem, people that at the end, after long paincure dies, they didn't put the same fucking courage!?

L.

I think your point was: "Aren't people who die of cancer after a long battle just as brave as the ones who live?"

and if it is, then thank you, for giving me another reason to hate all the Lance-Hype.

I'm no fan of Armstrong, I don't keep up with bicycling, and the only time I give thought to tabloid reporting on his personal life is when I'm reading a magazine at the dentist's office while waiting to have a root canal.

It is a miracle that anyone - be they a famous sportsman like Lance Armstrong or a non famous person - bounced back from cancer that doctors said would be little hope of recovery. We don't hear about the average person who's suffered and survived cancer and it doesn't make them any less of a hero than Lance is.

If someone is inspired by Lance's medical triumph, if he's a beacon of hope to some people suffering cancer, then I really don't see anything wrong with that.

Yeah, it is sad he left his wife and children after everything that's happened. I don't know what else to say about that except it's a sad situation especially for his children.

As far as the Livestrong bracelets - might want to have a better look at em, chances are it's not a Livestrong band. There's a lot of fakes going around cuz they're trendy and everyone wants one. It's sad that something that symbolizes hope and awareneness has become nothing more than a fashion statement.
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle

*shrug* Let's talk about Mario Lemieux. He returned from cancer (well, Hodgkin's Disease) to win the NHL scoring race despite playing in less than 3/4 of his team's games in 1992-93, playing his comeback game on the same day as his last radiation treatment. He hasn't left his wife for greener pastures, bought his adopted city of Pittsburgh's hockey team when it looked like it was about to fold or move, is probably the most physically talented hockey player ever and, most importantly, we don't have to FUCKING HEAR ABOUT HIM everywhere we go......

Cheers to Mario Lemieux!

If he was French, I probably would never have heard of him, like I would have preferred.

Yeah, it's over ! I had the hope of another guy to win the Tour de France, just to humiliate Armstrong, but he won again...

I was just wondering : before he had his cancer, he did the Tour de France but he was incapable to finish it, he was an asshole. Now, after his miraculous near rising from the dead, he won it 7 times in a row... Isn't it strange when you know that his cancer medicine contains doping substances ?

So he's finally admitting publicly that he used "performance enhancing drugs."

This guy brought a lot money to cancer research, but what a fucking fraud.

This thread is more random than the general bullshit chat one.
Come out from the cold and into the setting sun. It's where it all began for me (not in Afrika), like it was out of control. Then after that life was sweet. So dream on into the pioneer skies of the fourteenth century and rise from the sunshine underground.

Wow, I wasn't here in '05 and this thread started with quite a nasty vibe. Incidentally I don't think he did lose both nuts. If he had done, I suspect his voice and appearance would have changed. No nuts = a big change in testosterone levels. I believe he lost one and also had a couple of operations on his brain (yeah, I Googled it).
Funnily enough the nasty snipes at Armstrong are kind of justified now, as he let a lot of supporters down and really took a big shit on the heads of those who were trying to race honestly (assuming there were any). I hope we get to see the Oprah interview in the UK and I hope he squirms. A lot.

Testosterone shots exist you know ;-)

Professional sportsmen, even cyclists, used to take it to grow their muscle masses.

Testosterone shots are also used as a medicine to cure low testosterone levels.
