Hi. I just thought I'd fire out a quick introduction of myself and in the process hopefully get an introduction to those of you who've been here forever, those who are new additions and those who are but a twinkle in our forum eyes at the mo!
So, my name is Ciaran and I've been off and on here now for just over 5 years. I like the Chemical Brothers and electronic music in general, as well as rock, metal and theatre, yes, theatre.
I have two cats, pictures of which i will send you if you ask nicely. I live in Ireland and I have a posh accent for a country bumpkin. I speak English as well as Gaelige(1st) and German, though I don't speak German so well anymore.
I like to record concerts and parties which I attend - a fine example of which is the picture of the 4 lads break-dancing on a roundabout on the left there.
I have a pretty fine collection of CDs, records and tapes but its increase has decelerated in recent years with the advent of mp3s.
I've learned to drive this past year and have my test on the 2nd of June. This, I now realise is about 10 years overdue, I shoulda learned earlier.
Following (passing of?) the test, I am going to focus myself on learning to play the piano, the back story of which I'll tell another time.
I've been living at home for the past year and a half as my life went a bit hay-wire. I'm now back on good terms with my bank account as well as family and friends. It's never an easy ride for any of us and we gotta move on, so I'm moving into my own place at the end of this month.
I sell phone and broadband connections for the company I work for and I'm lucky enough not to be hit too hard by the economic nightmare unfolding in Europe at the moment.
I got here just shortly after PTB was released, around which time I was beginning to collect the Chems proper.
It's great to see that there are some people still fairly active on the board from back in the day and quite a few new fans about too.
It is unfortunate however that forums are falling by the wayside a great deal in favour of the likes twitter and facebook. I'm guilty of allowing this to happen to myself but I do aim to be active more regularly - more so now I have an iPhone.
I hope that this clears up the issue of 'who the hell is this guy?'.
I really do hope, cos it doesn't make things much clearer for me....
If you wanna see some of the concerts/videos i mentioned, you can find them at my youtube page.
If you wanna get in touch you can do so through my profile page.
Leave a message, and take care of yourselves!
Love is all, Christs' Chin.

Well hello there.
Folks here may also know me as whirly, or Mia. I answer to either, or. As well as all variations on my birth name's pronunciation. I'm easy like that.
I have a 12 year old son and I've been married 15 years. I work in customer service in an office, but before that I used to be a display artist for Tower Records for many years. As with the others who are lucky enough to be employed during this crap economy, I am glad to have a job.
I can tell a story, or describe a song, or review an album, or talk about how music makes me feel - but I am not not afraid to admit I'm crap with summarizing my life in a few short paragraphs. I tend to type more than I talk sometimes so I can be a bit shy or at a loss for words when it comes to actually being face-to-face.
I've been a Chemical Brothers fan for over a decade now. When I love a band it is for life, because I will always have the music to carry me through the ages. I've been here since the early days of the Chems website and I was on their mailing list too, back in the flaming days of yore. As you can see by my ridiculously high post count, I spend a lot of time here. And not all the posts I have are about the Chemical Brothers - given all the time and all the post counts, a lot of my life is pretty much blogged on this forum and dispersed in various threads new and old. I have friends here and hope to meet more people from here later on. The Chemical Brothers have given me not only the gift of music, but gifts of friendship - and for that I am grateful.
And that's it. Until I go on my next long winded rant (and if you know me, you know it's comin' )

first of all. Welcome to the brotherhood Ciaran.
It is always nice to have another diehard fan join the clan!
Now that we know about you, i'll let you know a little about me. My name is Dafydd and i am currently situated in the mundane city of Canberra in Australia. I am 18 years old and am currently in my gap year. My life consists of working to save money for overseas, making music with one of my life long friends, partying with friends and enjoying every minute that i have to spare.
Life is good.
Now i guess we play the waiting game for june 14

Hi Mia and Dafydd! Glad to get to know you both a little better! I've been on and off here for so long I probably should know a lot of you a bit more by now. So have many of the board members here met up or been to gigs together?
