I've been listening to Teh Crystal Method's new album tonight. It's not bad--at least it's interesting. I think they did a good job of imbuing the album with the current EDM trend sound, which is both good and bad. I'm on like track number.... four? I actually like the energy of it.

Anyone else have an opinion?

Does my opinion count if I haven't listened to it? I'm going to assume it's just mediocre at best. They have never produced anything of great quality and never will.

nearly right Iggy, This is mediocrity at its best! I love track 3: They take Bro-step to a new level.
Remember Overseer - wreckage from 2003? this is the 2014 version of that. distorted, detuned Synth lines, bleeps, 4 to the floor rythms, stupid samples(big beat style) and simple but effective drums. Rock made with synthesizers and samplers instead of guitars. but more skrillex-like.

Will this be the guilty pleasure album of 2014?

I like track 3 as well. And look! LeAnn Rimes is on track 8. Result!

I listened to it once and that was enough for a lifetime. Or two.

After hours is the only song I sort of liked. The rest, at least what I continued listening to, was meh. Too clean, too over-produced, soulless and looking for dubstepish applause.

Their 2006 London soundtrack sounded good though.

Vegas was pretty good imo. But I've listened to the new single and it sucks ass.

I also like Vegas, but their recent work doesn't do it for me.
Gonna work it out...

Wow. track 3 is the best one? Its a train wreck. horrible. Just sounds like another brostep track from ultra festival.

As for the single, at least they got the name of the track right. I was 'over it' just after previewing for 30sec.
Come out from the cold and into the setting sun. It's where it all began for me (not in Afrika), like it was out of control. Then after that life was sweet. So dream on into the pioneer skies of the fourteenth century and rise from the sunshine underground.

Can you pleasr enlighten me a bit about brostep? Is that a faster version of today's dubstep? Or regular electro with dubstep elements?

It's what people call dubstep they don't like when the only dubstep they like is old Skream stuff.

In a way yes. Not a huge of skream but that is closer to what I prefer of dub step.

Loving it on first listen on my big studio headphones. Brilliant cheesy American big beat electronica - just wanted I needed at 1am in the night to make me look forward to a scary day ahead - life been bit mellow and this sounds fun. I hope it sounds as good tomorrow and day after.
I had loved their last album a lot too. Similar circumstances.
Except for their community service I think the Meth have done a respectable return since Divided By Night and i have forgiven them for that atrocity called Legions of Boom.

Typical cheesy pseudo intellectual American big beat party music.
Were folks here suddenly expecting a Chemical Brothers album from Crystal Meth. They've always been about this.
