I was wondering what people think - if people will post reviews of ptb could they either not reveal every little detail or if they are giving lots of info put some warning in the title of the thread. I'm 50/50 about visiting this forum, 'cos I want to find out up to date info (release dates etc) but not spoil the new album before it's released. :?

Hah. No worries, there are no real reviews on here yet, so fans opinions are quite trivial.
Oh I think chemicalfan and a few others would have worries regardless of official reviews or not:

I don't wanna hear a breakdown of all the tracks on the album

I say if people/fans want to post reviews then let them. If critics want to write reviews and print them in magazines, let them.
If you don't want to read reviews- skip over it, avoid the thread... I would think once you're into the 1st or 2nd sentence, you'd know if it was a review or not. Nobody's spoiling the record by writing a review - if your perception of the record is spoiled by some ramblings on the internet, then I don't know what else to say. Just don't read the reviews!!
And what's this shit about "real reviewers." Why's a fan's opinion less than that of someone who gets paid to listen to music. What's a real reviewer, anyway? A critic??

Well obviously they're going to get paid to do the review and they've got certain standards to meet. They've also probably been trained to a much higher writting education than fans. For all of these reasons, I think that a reviewer/critic would write a better review of the album.

Getting paid to write reviews and higher education aside, that doesn't stop the fact that many people here have bitched and complained about critics - especially when they don't hold the same opinions as the fans.
Don't get me wrong, I do read reviews in magazines. I like the objectivity some reviews present. There is some truth in them, some are enjoyable, some reviews I agree with, some I don't... and some I find downright insulting.
But even still. I would rather hear what you have to say about Push the Button more than some critic at NME who thinks the Chemical Brothers are aging blowhards who haven't recorded a good record since Dig Your Own Hole. Just because you don't have a degree in journalism doesn't mean you're incapable of getting your opinions across in an intelligent manner.
